What sort of "concrete" are you using? you'll need more of a plastering mix. Try a mortar with maybe some extra cement, plastercising additive or bonding agent which is a bit like PVA. Id just try some extra cement first.

Most have aquarium safe written on them now so pick one of those to be safe. The clear RTV from Sika is one and Selleys Clear glass is another that i saw yesterday at Bunnings.

Anyone bringing in NLS cichlid formula at the moment. I normally get some off Trademe or Hollywood worst case. If not what other quality feed are we feeding Mbuna/ Haps at the moment? Cheers.

Haven't been out since Easter unfortunately. And i probably wont get out till Around the end of the year if im lucky. I play footy every weekend and we have a new baby due in a couple of weeks.

At this time of year id say it would be the food making the water green.

Im been in to tramping and hunting since i was a young falla- hunting more so as i got older and wanted the challenge. Hunt mostly Sika in the Kaimaniwas and Kawekas. Sometimes hunt with a video camera only. Although not so often these days with a young family.

I do a gravel vac about every 6 weeks or so to clean out some muck. I have to top up weekly though as i loose at least 10-15% with evaporation or what the plants take up.

I havnt had any problem with root rot yet. My plants are in the clay ball media as well if that makes a difference.

yeah. I just intercepted the little aqua one power head and extended it up. then it runs slightly down hill and drains out hte other end back to the tank and through the filter.

I have a mini indoor setup been running for the last couple of years. Will post picks later. Have cut back on the herbs now though as ive turned the lights off. Only have some lucky bamboo and some chives. IM just running off a 30l Aqua one tank but bypass the filter and extend the pump head up to the grow bed then return pipes back through the filter. Really simple and really cheap after a bit of mucking around. Its not the best setup but i was keen to do something as cheap as possible, reducing water changes and getting something in return from a tank. Wasn't interested in powering a whole garden. If i was to plant more herbs out i would have to get the lights going again.

Could you just test for chlorine? Pretty that's in those 30 seconds products.

Yep. it would be a good idea to have a floor drain or waste pipe coming out of the wall for water changes and also a tap so you can top your tanks up direct. no hoses.
