  1. When did you buy it? Fish lose colour when stressed so they blend into their environment.
  2. For all that effort you may as well take the whole line out of the tank using your hand...
  3. Alright, so I got a bunch of java fern and anubias on its way. Have received some xmas moss, S. Microfolia, and riccia which I have added also. Have bought some midnight gravel and will get daltons propogating/aquaticmix tomorrow. I still have silica sand of course and was wondering whether I should change it to all black, black sides with white "river", or black mounds with white center... White center like this :http://img129.imageshack.us/i/img1698uw9.jpg/ or "river" like this: http://faao.kicks-ass.net/Fotos/Plantad ... 1HiRes.jpg Let me know. Will post pics of current layout/update soon.
  4. My theory on feeding live food is: If it is done occasionally and as long as it does benefit the fish over frozen fish (like if it is a natural born hunter eg piranha, Aro (?) all those fish with teeth that eat animals and not leftovers) I am fine with it. Once it gets excessive it does become a little unnecessary and cruel. Should be a quick death and not enjoyed too much by the feeder.
  5. Got some (what I think is) midnight gravel stuff. Very very dark, but I quite like it. Tomorrow I'm going out to buy daltons propogating or aquatic mix. Which ever is better. But I'm still not sure whether to go with a white "river" in the middle, or the whole thing black.
  6. Am thinking of getting some really dark gravel for my 60cm tank, along with daltons aquatic mix. What colour looks best in your opinions? Have been using silica sand but its not really ideal for plants. Was thinking maybe that midnight stuff if I can find it, but if it is jet black it might be a bit overwhelming for a planted tank. Let me know what you guys prefer.
  7. True. I find sand looks nice, but for a planted tank it can be a pain. Also, if you are thinking of BNs or something don't bother with it. The poo will stand out like ... ... a lot. You can use dark gravel for planting area and then sand for a focus point in the middle or something. For fish... I don't like guppies. For plants... You'll have to let us know what style of planted tank you like. Nature style Iwugami (?) style Dutch biotope...? (and more probably) Not sure of those floating moss balls are here? Never seem them. Unless for food, I don't see how they're going to help the fry. Get some duckweed or Riccia, or moss or something for them. HTH
  8. Maybe thats why those supermarket eggs can be hatched!

  11. Thought you said marijuana for a second... And yes, do add it.
  12.  This is just full of win!
  13. Very Cute! What are they like to keep? Seahorses seem pretty cool! Also, I imagine they are hard to breed? Don't the fathers have pouches or something?

Has anyone tried an overdose?
  16. If you have the funds, go for something fancy but small. I assume it going to be a planted tank? For mine, I think I saw some Forktailed rainbowfish/blue eye - http://lh5.ggpht.com/MadamMatrix/R5ELyF ... 410_thumb3 - At a store. I'm going to grab them if they were. anyway, maybe some killis? Rummy-noses?
  17. Since hairgrass is so thin, it seems to take longer to form a nice carpet.
  18. Runescape is more censored than this forum.
  19. Do you really think they employ thousands of people to with the ability to talk meaningful nonsense, speak every language and come up with replies 24/7? I don't think so.
  20. Yeah, background. It's just a black piece of card taped to the back for now... Will spray paint it once I get around to it. You referring to the background...? I'm confused. :-? Where?
  21. Plants: Since it has low light, I would like to try grow some mosses and java ferns etc. Maybe some dwarf sag in the back. (If it is the stuff that grows tall..) Could add some anubias nana? the small stuff? If I can get a hold of some. Fish: My Spiny Eel is in there, and I might add some other fancy tetras or killies eventually. I quite like the wood in the middle, but I feel there is something missing on the left side... Let me know what you think. I'd quite like to keep the stuff I have in there rather than go get other stuff. Would like more of a Nature Aquarium style so suggestions of something else will probably be ignored.
