  1. Have done! Just after the photo. The blue thing is a reflection from the curtain though...
  2. Will do tomorrow. Although it has cleared up a bit now. I prefer not being able to see the clear edge of where the background meets the substrate...
  3. Most people suggest river sand over silica. If you're going for a natural/biotope tank then I would definitely go with river sand.
  4. What do use to catch them?
  5. I have never ever thought of this before! We have a disgusting old... square concrete tank sorta thing outside with filthy water thats never been cleaned. Would most likely have mossy larvae in there... Would that be okay? Or should I atleast change the water? What should I look out for etc etc?
  6. You can open the pictures in Microsoft picture manager and go edit picture > resize > web (small). That way they will be a good size. Otherwise when you upload to photobucket (don't know how to use others) there is a automatic resizer option somewhere. When you see the picture in photobucket, there should be a IMG code, [ IMG] XXXXXXXXXXX.photobucket.com . Copy paste that to your message here and it should work. HTH
  7. Anymore info for people to structure a decent reply?
  8. I wouldn't choose it for a planted tank again, but I think it is best for a scape like this. It does look very natural with the small stones/pebbles in there... and the dirtyness. I may find some small brown gravel to mix in with it if the geos keep it looking too clean with their constant stirring.
  9. Maybe, the geos will most likely uproot any small plants that don't have a solid established root system so It may not work.
  10. Thankyou! I had tried to give it more curve and go from thin to wider. Opening up just as it gets to the glass, but my dad's hands slipped when I was pouring in the gavel.  (Yes I had help!) The left side still bothers me as it looks... ...something.
  11. Excuse the very dirty water, have just set it up and messed up the sand (there are no fish in there) and the bad photo. Looks pretty much how I want it to look, it has a lot of hiding spots underneath the driftwood (3 pieces) for a BGK maybe and pleco. There is plenty of surface area for geos and they will still be small when I get them. Plants are just E amazonicus x 2, and E. Bleheri x 1. Feedback?
  12. Update: Have java fern and some more anubias on its way. Hopefully some crypts aswell soon. Plant is to have the black parts almost completely planted. The sag makes it look rather bare.
  13. Who here supplies them? Who here is good at balancing problems. Don't want symmetrical on both sides, don't want them off balance either, but I would want some of each on both sides. Would prefer to plant in odd numbers, 3 would be ideal I guess... How many of each should I get?
  14. I would like to know which crypts would be good to fill space. As I do not know the first thing about crypts I need advice. Requires: -Low light -No more than 10-15cm in diameter (pruned if necessary, but it should still look good like that) -Look good with java fern, anubias and general low tech plants -Be interesting but not overwhelming. Hope someone can help, even if you just list the crypts available here.
  15. Confuuusssiiioonnn... My tank dropped from 30*C - 22* or so in 4 hours. =0
  16. Jailbreak it. Ability to make it look awesome and get free games > iPad games. Haven't used an ipad though, the seem to big/heavy to play games effectively.
  17. Its very cool. Would never have thought there would be a ... "insert correct term here" ... inside the "kettle".

    Anubias

Just a quick question, since this is the "anubias thread"... Whats the average price tag on hastifolia? Privately.
  19. Sounds like yr 12 economics to me...
  20. To increase o2 levels, wouldn't surface agitation increase it? EG: spoon or hand or w/e?
  21. Did anyone notice the box says "dioide" not dioxide?
  22. I did the same thing, cut off the small shoots and replanted them. They do get bigger eventually. Well the new leaves that grow do.
