    help

how often does the tank get cleaned, or how strong is the filter on it. we have found that the cleaner the tank, the less the guppies like it. We cleaned some tanks regularly and the guppies got sick and died off, while some guppies in another tank, that hasn't had a clean or gravel vac since it was setup about 8months ago and the 3 guppies that survived the other tank are thriving and multiplying like crazy. Hope this helps Ballistic

  9. A mate of mine suggested putting the soil on under gravel filter plates inside a fish tank, this keeps moisture in the tank and the soil just damp. And then I have a peice of glass over whatever I am feeding them(bread or luncheon) and a lid on the tank aswell, keeps them warm and damp. happy ittle worms = Happy, full fish B

    Hi all

hi And welcome cherie, great to see the fish strike again, he he he where abouts in the country are you. B
  22. I had 2 a couple of years ago with a community setup and also had no problems, I had to unfortunately replace them as they were put into another tank and they wern't to keen on the ntank and jumped up the water flow from the hang on filter. B
  23. I have had the CAE before and had no problems, and I find them to be extremely good at thier job, twice now they have been put into a tank with algae probs and within 24hrs majority of the algae was gone. As for probs with other fish, we also kept them in with electric yellows and blue zebras with no ill feelings between them. So I guess i go against the grain, or maybe it is just the welly strain is not so problematic. B
  24. HI Angel, Have you ever gone down to the river or local stream to get freshwater to do a topup or waterchange with. We had red fin bullies and used a small stream close by to top up after evapouration. Our reasoning behnd it was that the stream water has little bugs and particles that they can snack on. What do you feed them 0n and how often do you feed them? B
