  1. I have recently started to use the oxt weed out of the halswell river yea...How do you approach getting it out...when i went i ended upo with wet shoes wet pants and couldnt get very much as most of it was too deep? do you use a rake or do you just have a better spot?
  2. Thanks for all the help!!! Air-Lines? excuse my ignorance but is this a filter? By that i take it the eggs need some air system?
  3. Sorry if you read this and think im stupid...But if you have 2 tanks why can't you keep both goldfish and tropicals. I have 2 tanks, one goldfish one tropical, and they are great because both types are so different...And you don'thave to choose hehe
  4. Hey guys, I need some guidelines on breeding my goldfish. I know they have breed before in a pond as I have seen the small ones but I have had to move them to a tank as I moved house. Is there any way I can promote breeding in my goldfish?
  5. wow thanks to those that recommended getting oxy weed from the river, I can't beleive i paid for something that really does grow like a weed. Apart from wet feet it was a great help thanks. Its not stealing tho is it?
  6. You dont think that i should keep the oxygen weed incase they need it to eat? Tai Tapu just out of chch
  7. I have several large, 10-20cms and upto 10 years old, goldfish in a tank plus one common bully. These fish recently came out of a pond. I put 5 oxygen weed plants into the tank but the golfish have eaten all the leaves off within 1 week. Since they were out of the pond do I have to feed them plants all the time, they seem to eat the pellet food but they eat heaps. Any suggestions on any plants I could put in that they wouldnt eat so they have some shelter, any suggestions appreciated!!! Thanks
  8. When I caught it out of the river it was one of the fishes you see darting away from your feet, possibly spotted but probably common. Its pretty kewl tho about 20cms now from 2cms when i caught it.
  9. Just today I discovered a bully in my pond, not sure wat species. I remember catching them from a river when i was younger and putting them in my outdoor pond, 10 years ago. I had never considered there to be any left but i found one today as I am moving house and moving my fish. I hav never feed this fish it has lived in an outdoor pond with several goldfish all its life. Very hardy and easy to keep. Hard to catch if i remember correctly
