Why not try Sharpes Grainary in Lower Hutt, not sure if they do have it, but would be worth a try given they sell all that sort of stuff.

all of our heaters are vertical, a couple are in hi flow areas and others arn't and there is no major difference that we can see in out temps between tanks. IMO I prefer them vertical as they can be hidden more easily i.e with a nice big clump of attractive plants. B

a fan blowing across the surface of the water works, or else freezing a 2.25 litre bottle of water and then fl,oating that in the tank.

Hey All, Just wondering if anyone knows where in the wellington region one would hunt for tadpoles and frogs( other than the obvious answer of course being water, and the variations of a pond, puddle or anything like that) we have a 9 year old absolutely itching to catch/find some, and so far we have lucked out. Any help would be appreciated. B

depending on the temp that the tank sits at inside, fish like guppies paltties amd mollies will tolerate lower temp levels aswell, and there is also the leopard fish. B

not sure if it is any help, an agricultural store may have them, or even try a hyrdroponics store. What size disc are you looking at? B

the jebo's are easy as to get going again, and are a breeze to clean, we just take them out on the deck and give them a hose off. Easy as, most of the time they don't need any elbow grease at all to clean them.

thats another high point I found with them, that they come with all the media included, not sure about all the others but I know some sell the media seperate.

Just make sure not to get the jebao and the jebo mixed as they are different brands, as Mystic has said, the jebo's come highly recomended from us, my first was the 815 and it didn't take long to upgrade to the 819's

but at the end of the day it is still a bubba fish, just as a cub is a bubba lion or tiger. So it is still correct, just people expressing themselves in different ways. i know what you mean caryl, but it is all that expression stuff.

also if you have a wire brush give it a good scrub with it and it will get rid of the loose flakey bits, and will probably bring it back to the brown colour aswell.

best thing to do is soak it, see if it leeches any tannins and most importantly if you can sink it. Usually it is the darker wood that is best suited, but in saying that we have a few lighter coloured ones here that sink and look amazing.

you will prob find that if you add another female convict that you will have no probs at all, as any hassling will than likely be between the cons. We had two males in a cichlid setup and had no probs, they had the occasional biffo with each other but other than that they were fine. B
