Help Livingart Wildlife Park (Tauranga)-DREAMS DO COME TRUE!
Lucid replied to Lucid's topic in The Off Topic Fishroom
There has been a thought of maybe getting an extention on the date to give a bit of time to get some funds together, like Fundraising, Donations etc? Maybe some Volunteer helpers etc? Maybe some sort of Petition we can sign to help? Lucid -
Is there a way we can help Livingart? Bay Of Plenty Times - News Report: Link: http://www.bayofplentytimes.co.nz/localnews/storydisplay.cfm?storyid=3780970&thesection=localnews&thesubsection=&thesecondsubsection= Im so sorry Mark, Mystic and I are here for you and Caroline! Hold your head up dude - you have helped many here, maybe if we rally together we can find a way to help you and the Park? I would HATE to see all your work go down just like that! They were only a few weeks old then put them back where we found them. Went back later and did notice a few small ones around still. Would have liked to keep them but didnt have another big tank for that many babies.

Cool as. Our Red finned Bullies spawned and hatched a few years ago. They had hundreds of bubbas. We let them all go again. Best luck.

Heya and welcome, Good to see the hobbie growing at a healthy rate in Wellington, if you ever need any help with anything, don't hesitate to ask, or if you just want to pop round and stare at some tanks over a cup of coffee just ask. I agree to with the chinese algae eaters they can be terrors, but as with all fish, needs to be taken on a case by case, as not all fish are the same, but generally speaking they can get nasty ( JMO) Ballistic, Mystic, Tyler and Byron

Especially when you ask someone to marry you, I asked Mysticvampyre(Jody) to marry me tonight and she agreed, which settled my nerves which had been jangling all night over what she might say. We took a short trip out to the south coast of Wellington tonight, in the howling southerly, where I proposed, with the huge swell crashing over the rocks behind us. ( Ironically the place we are most weekends, collecting bits for our coldwater marine) Anyway, just a tad excited so had to share. Lucid

thanks guys, is good to be back, although many of the faces have changed, almost a complete overhaul. (except some of the furniture lol)

Aqua One CF500 vrs Fluval 105 - which one? I personally ran a Jebo 815 on my 3 foot and since moving to larger tanks have upgraded to the Jebo 819's. We have had no probs at all with them, and they are a breeze to get started, easy to clean, and work very well indeed. I would go with a Jebo over the others any day. Personal preference tho, as to which one you go with, but there are a few on here that use the jebo's and all have good things to say about them.

Yeah, down to a shared one  but will hopefully invest in a laptop at some stage. Untill then we might have to set up a time roster

yopu could also remove the spray bar and point the outlet into the corner, just make sure it won't push the water over the edge. We have done this before and it has worked to good effect. Alternativly point it at some rocks or driftwood, so it spreads the current out.

Thanks man, i like what I can see of yours to, that is the sort of thing i want but will be over my shoulder instead. Hopefully be able to design something where the head is resting on my shoulder and maybe a foot up the back/side of my neck, just not too high up.

I only have a couple at the mo, but have a couple planned, but first this is on my upper right arm, is the centre peice of my family crest, but has been tweaked a little to reflect my taste more. And this is on my left shoulder blade, the black is a tribal piece i drew myself and the red is my star sign, which i had woven into it. They are a little on the rough side, the last one was my first, and it wasn't till after the second i realised the artist wasn't the greatest, but I don't regret them at all, and will get them touched up, and will definitely be getting more. Something similar to this is on the wish list for one of my shoulders. And would like something similar to this for down my side, and will get some more tribal work aswell, not always in that order tho.

great pics everyone, keep them coming

Quite true, but maybe Joze has been scared off from posting. WQe all know what we would do, but very rarely considor the original poster in these circumstances.
-
I agree Mincie but with forums you can't just assume youo know in what "mood" for want of a better term he poster was in when they posted, you can never know how a post was intended to come across when it was posted bu=y just reading words. And to be honest yes people are just expressing themselves and thier opinions but at times the replies( across the forum, not just this thread) get downright rude. IMO B
-
The problem with forums worldwide is that people get an idea in thier head of how they think it has been written, which may not of been the original posters intent. It has long been known (and pointed out to me on occasion) that when reading forum posts to keep nuetral feeling on the way it has been written as the original poster may not be good with words or may of been sidetracked and lost the writers momentum. Have you guys considored they way that Joze may be feeling right now as a result of all the negativity towards thier post where they where only trying to help with what may be personal experiance. I have noticed tho that although they will be getting all the notification emails for this thread they haven't been back to post.

Thats fine point taken, but instead of taking it far as it was taken, why ignore the statement made: And continue it on being an informative posting, then the last comment would of faded into obscurity and been forgotten, leaving a nice healthy helpful post. We need to stop reading into posts as a personal dig, or with an opiniated view, and just see the general post. As you have statedf Afrikan, it would of been fine without the last comment, so do as I do and ignore it, as I have said and you have said it is a helpful post except that line, so ignore it. B

This isn't always true as I know a few landlords in my time and friends who own rentals who won't allow big tanks in their properties due to damage from weight or leaks, but then again you can also check if your insurance will cover damages caused by a large tank before you get it. IMO The purpose of the thread is a "Use your common sense and think it through" post, making sure people think it through thoroughly before getting a large tank as there is nothing worse than mustering troops to move it in, to then have to do so again in a short space of time to move it out again. I agree there, but isn't the forum here to help people, and in my mind helping someone avoid a costly mistake with a large tank is helping someone, therefore the thread is useful and shouldn't of copped this much flack but instead been added to with other points and experiances that would make this a helpful and interesting thread, rather than just tearing it apart because it is common sense. Yes it may be common sense, BUT I also know a heck of alot of people who wouldn't have the foggiest on what common sense is. B
