  1. Haven't weighed our lil guy but he's sucha fatty, ours doesn't seem to eat veges at all (tried every trick like grating the carrots into thin strips looking like worms and wriggling it) - we haven't the heart to starve him either we started to restrict his cicada intake when it started to constipate him his eyes are WAY bigger than his stomach! Our dog's developed an unliking to him though, Midori doesn't understand why Tequila gets bugs and she doesn't.
  2. dog loves cockroaches and cicadas and locusts - despite that fact she's on one of the best dog food brands
  3. hmmmm...think Tequila's about 4months old now? (Correct me if I'm wrong Mincie)
  4. hahaha we always get some everytime we go on a snowboarding trip = GOOD TIMES. We thought we'd keep the alcohol themes with the pets - our lil dog's named Midori.
  5. well you've done more than me anyway lol I didn't end up having time to even breed them, but I might give them to Dave's sister to have a turn with and see if she has any luck.
  6. This is our beardy that we got off Mincie after Xmas which we named Tequila after its colouring. We think it might be a boy 'cos he's starting to flare at its own reflection in the glass now. Will put up the photo of the whole terrarium after Rockworks does their magic with our design of the rockwall

    Discus

You can usually get a school of Cardinals (10+) for cheap - most petshops would discount when you buy a group. You're better off buying a tank bigger than the 40/50L per adult rule just for when you get slack with the water changes
  8. oops meant moss, so Diver have you managed to breed them successfully yet?
  9. Dixon I think you need to invest in a camera 'cos I'm sure I'm not the only one dying to see an updated photo of your tank!
  10. nope the male (I think) got some sort of disease - like a huge pimple grew on his forehead then it went away then he died I don't have a lot of time these days for breeding, trying to get good enough marks for Masters in my degree, might even have to do the unmentionable and DOWN SIZE
  11. when we lived on a livestyle farm there was a female nesting nearby our paddock and we used to see it carrying field mice/rats all the time, when Midori (my lil pooch) was a couple of months old (2kgs) and just learnt toilet training properly and went outside to wee - I watched from under the roof (about 2meters away from MidOri) the falcon lowered its talons the was about to swoop. THAT was a scary moment and from that day I never let Midori out without me next to her lol
  12. these are photos of my 'wildtype' Discus: was sold to me as some kind of a Turq...lol
  13. I haven't had a lot of time lately and have just left the parents in with the eggs with the mum eating all the eggs, I do have another older batch of around 20 coming upto 3weeks now. Out of the batch in the photos only 6 survivors - they constantly try to kill themselves like getting wedged between the sponge filter and the wall  pity since they were getting SO big. This batch - lil black dorsal fins showing and getting quite territorial...definately got one big boy. If I get too busy with Uni then I might sell this pair so someone else with more time can get the most out of them seeing that I suck at it lol

    blue ram

wow congrats Cam mine lived on green water on the first week of their lives then micros etc. Get a photo of the parents with fry! I never leave the female in, she always eat the eggs and the male's a wuss
  15. I'd go with heaps of Java fern and nothing else if I were you, cheap enough and grows fast.
  16. I don't think they're a couple afte watching them, because the Electric Dream prefers the top corner while the Blue Diamond takes the bottom corner with aggression directed against each other when they cross the boundary. Is there a disease that could make them isolate themselves??
