  1. and then what was more confusing was that getting told Chicken Masala is the REAL way to have it and Butter Chicken was just made for the white guys lol
  2. Oh man I know how gross it feels - after making beef heart mixture saw stepdad using the same smelly blender to make his banana smoothie
  3. wow I feel so embarrassed by my lack of cooking skills now, maybe if I moved out of home then I'll become a better cook Phoenix I buy that Chicken tonight butter chicken stuff but it just doesn't taste like butter chicken
  4. Hey Cam if you had told me you have two Gold balloon male rams then I would've offered you my female for free since her mate died anyway
  5. excellent guess we'll be eating wontons until I perfect it...Phoenix you still owe me a butter chicken recipe from first year
  6. is there a specific way to fold wontons together?? I've tried that once but when it boiled it all became undone and I ended up with meat blobs and wonton skins
  7. I'm thinking of renovating my Discus tank, I'm wanting Anubias nanas as the foreground/ lowest plant and I've got various Amazonian swords as the bigger background - so now I'm wanting a plant to cover a vast area between the Anubias and ths swords, being bigger than the Anubias but smaller than the swords. Don't really want to be planting hundreds of dwarf sag - wanting a plant that will spread by runners and preferably fast.
  8. buy them young the grow them out yourself? That's what I'm doing - much more satisfying than buying big
  9. well I mastered making Italian gnoochi from just watching and listening once from my mate's dad so I'm a quick learner but I need precise measurements in metric terms please lol (not too good with pounds and ounces etc). Wok I have to admit I've watched that show a few times and even learnt how to make scrolls from Sticky TV on TV3 lol. But I'm meaning more fancier looking dishes without the effort.
  10. Just started dabbing in cooking and would like some easy but yum recipes if people have any favourites to share
  11. plus their stripes start to fade in colour with age too
  12. oh man so jealous of that Discus tank - how often did you have to do water changes with that many Discus in it?
  13. yeah Dave's dad designs security systems so he can get us cheap/2nd hand systems, the worst thing is that these guys are bringing their scruffy mates and burning up the grass on the riverbank with doughys - fully churns up the grass and gets it all muddy.
  14. our little guy eats anything that moves - cicadas, cockroaches, crickets, locusts, wax worms and mealworms. Refuses to touch his greens though. what's more amazing with Tequila - he only poo's on the left hand side of his terrarium very well toilet trained lol
  15. right looks like I'll be hunting down either Oak leaves or lipton's teabags
  16. I was thinking of checking out the Asian supermarkets they seem to have all sorts of dried leaves? But tea bags sounds like a cheap and reliable alternative
  17. but wouldn't tea make the water go dark in colour? I also heard tannins make the fish colourings go much more brighter?? How long do you leave the tea bag in for? Phoenix44 - you know I never paid attention in Chem that's why we shared answers so frequently lol
  18. how did you do it Alan? Did you leave the teabags in - for how long? Any specific brand? I'm worried about putting too much in and at the same time I don't want the tank water to turn brown...
  19. It wasn't until we saw Rockworks' 3 Beardys together that we thought they looked contempt with life and thought it might be an option to get another one but we've also heard of a horror story from one of Dave's mates that's really put us off
  20. might just be small and runty due to being picked on by the others? Might just need more nutrition?
  21. I've given my community tank a thought and thinking about lowering the pH below 7 (tap water), since most of my fish are from lower pH environments. Does anybody add Almond Leaves to their tanks - if so how much? I've already got two HUGE pieces of driftwood so I'm not too keen to add more but I want to lower the pH the non-chemical way and thought Almond leaves would be a likely option.
  22. I freaked out the first time I saw him drinking haha looked like he was trying to drown himself in the shallow plate, we're thinking of adding another Beardy for a companion while he's still young so he won't be lonely during daytime - is this safe? Bit worried since he's already flaring at his own image.
  23. Tap water works fine with my Discus and I change water (50%) every 2nd day, I heard no matter how hard or soft your tap water is your Discus would be fine with it when adjusted to it? Thinking about adding more driftwood into the tank though to keep the pH low.
