  1. ok...so it's not snails either, now I'm really confused
  2. too little - about a quarter the size of Ram eggs. Do snails lay eggs?? Can't think of which eggs would lay eggs this small
  3. don't have any at all
  4. what do we have to do to get a pair of these??

    Discus tankmates

You should get at least 4 or 5 if you're getting them that young...be careful about adding other fish...not enough/sufficient feeding leads to stunted growth. lmsmith is right - bare bottom is best when that young. Tetras would be good tankmates
  6. I've discovered my Blue Rams picking on tiny/miniscule eggs on the glass and the anubias in their corner, just wanting to know which fish it could belong to. The eggs are about the size of a pin tip, ranging from clear/light pink to cream. I have Cardinals, Glowlights, Chain loaches, Zebra loaches, Discus and Rams and GBAs - I have already crossed off the parental list.
  7. Wow how cheap are you getting Cardinals to get 50 of them? I'm adding 10 more to my tribe this week hopefully (fingers crossed that a good shipment comes in). Do you siphon a lot then?
  8. looking good Cam..I also have fat tetras (Cardinals and Glowlights). I see you finally got rid of those beard algae
  9. is the green colour of the water from algae on the glass or the actual water being green? I block out the side of my tank facing the window with polystyrene...took me ages to scrub the dam algae off the glass Also what kind of substrate are you using? I'm thinking about changing my Discus tank substrate but obviously you can't put an undergravel filter under fine sediment - what do you do?
  10. finally! lol... do you keep it near a window or something? Duckweed is evil...spent almost two hours picking them out of my Riccia
  11. how long can you breed these little guys for? I'll be keen to buy a few more
  12. Oh so they last a decent time...awesome as looking forward to giving breeding these little guy a good go. Has anyone successfully bred their store-bought Rams repetitively?
  13. emptied it lol - I get bored of projects easily, if I hadn't bought the gear for projects then I'll get bored and move onto something new Dave always said I was easily distracted
  14. Yeah I heard that these guys die fast - hence trying to get some frys out of them before my little guys hit the expiry date
  15. maybe you can fit a small heater in your hanging filter?? haha create a mini sump for it!
  16. Phoenix44 - I need a pic of distinguishable/sexable Gold balloon Rams, I know my Blue Rams are a couple 'cos they laid eggs. Cam - Peter made that tank to my specifications, I can't fill it yet have to let the silicon cure first. It's a 180L tank divided into 3 tanks and I can always turn it into one big tank by taking out the perspex dividers.
  17. Got my breeding tank set up from Peter today totally stoked Check it out: Cam - the one I think is the female seems to have smaller dorsal fins and fatter than the male, the one that I think might be a male has got that blue sheen to his body. Cannot get a good pic of them, they've set up home in the Indian Fern wall, vigorously chasing the other rams away.
  18. Oh well at least I've got a week or more to set up the livefoods...does anyone know how to distinguish between sexes of Gold Rams? Not too sure if I have a pair or just two that live together in close proximity
  19. phoenix44 - I just remembered that you still owe me a butter chicken recipe from Massey first year! Freshwater fish generally taste more fishy than saltwater I find...need a lot of sauces or marinade or pepper
