  1. golden balloon rams eh? sorry can't help. have you tried googling it. I know its better to know for certain off someone who has bred them but failing that google may help. lol I haven't bought rams since these guys cause they just seem to die within a few months for no apparent reason
  2. Amy: This is what the Ram eggs should look like. This is a pic of one of my 3 pairs of breeding rams. I gave them away to a friend who is having a lot of fun breeding them. the fish were about a year old at this stage. (you should be able to see the eggs on the gravel if you look closely).
  3. i just moved house so cant find any of my stuff. the light will be over the whole tank eventually when i find the braces for it. There is about 15 - 18 L of water in the tank, the bricks are thinner than the big ones, lol. I did break some bricks (i got some and broke them to see the effect) but i decided that i preferred the smooth underwater world look (if you know what i mean, lol) like a lost city or something. ha ha. how could i cover the heater? Im arranging for a thin piece of brick cut to cover the heater ... maybe i could just shove some java fern in there and hope it grows. i can grow almost all plants but no luck with java fern so this tank in part is a mission to grow that wretched plant. someone suggested turning the lights off cause i usually overkill with the lights.
  4. Its taken me aaggeeessss for me to do this so here goes. the tank is a 22L nano. got a hang on filter with a 200 watt fluval heater near the intake of the filter so it is hidden. the theme of the tank is red. The gravel is pure laterite - I'm still waiting on my red sand to come in - its been about a 3 week wait! Soaked bricks form the back wall of the tank, with a juwel rock background I got given that rises out of the tank so I can at some stage get some plants to grow on top of the tank (was thinking of a peace lilly or something). Current inhabitants are 3 bumblebee gobies (acclimatised to freshwater but i always put salt in my tanks) and phoenix my golden fighter. Eventually I will be putting 3 (maybe a few more) cardinals in the tank as well. The temp is at a constant 25.9C. The plants in this tank will be the current Java fern - looking at getting some more if i can grow it. There is also a sprig of dwarf val in the RHS front corner. possibly anubias as well. Ive seen a nice piece of marbled anubias I liked.
  5. love the tank. plec looks like a red spot plec to me http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/for-sa ... 34647.html

  7. the "real" wild golden and silver kois are really really tasty!
  8. hmm.. lol that makes perfect sense. also got a temiki or something like that which was really a normal albino bristlenose.
  9. interesting... lol is that a good thing?
  10. he is just over two and a half years old now. ha ha all good. lol ... ive seen some horrible lorikeets too. i got him about 6 months ago and he was terrible. bit, screeched, attacked. everything he had belonged to him and not me. I was used to having larger parrots like cockatoos, african greys and macaws (when i was a kid) so i figured i could try my hand at one of the smaller ones, lol. youtube search rusty rainbow lorikeet to see him.
  11. oh he isnt possessive at all. no aggression and is extremely well behaved and obeys me all the time. he is a hybrid between a red collar and a rainbow. talks heaps too, lol. by horrible things i meant that the puppy is his erm "special" friend ha ha. that and he likes rabbit's and cats tails too much.. tries to get frisky with them. he isnt allowed mirrors except for mine which he sits in front of when he wants and calls him self a pretty boy. (I get very angry when i see birds in cages all the time) and so he is loose in the house and doesn't sleep in the cage. he prefers sitting under a huge piece of drift wood on top of his cage.
  12. This is rusty. that is his "pet" puppy. he does horrible things to his pup.
  13. sony viao, toshiba and asus make great laptops. dell (not the XPS - those are great), compaq, and all the others are ok in comparison - based on what I have seen and compared. did you have a model in mind - or better even did you see a lappy that you liked, and what is the max. you are willing to spend?
  14. copy paste it in the browser. these fighters are readily available. :bounce:
