    CO2

I am going to use DIY CO2 - you know how to make that, and then buy one of these - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =261585308 It looks really really good. Just hope it works with DIY CO2 mix and does not need a bottle.
  4. Red whiptails are usually about the $60 mark each. They are an awesome awesome fish though, and once they get over their suicidal tendencies, ( :-? ) they are really hardy too
  5. OK, so finally the tank is taking the form I want it to. Some of the plants need settling in, but one of my crypts (petchii_sp? I think it is called has sent out a flower stalk). got some more swords, rotala varieties and some ludwigia. I was sitting back about to go to sleep looking at the tank, grabbed my phone and took a few pics. Hope you like them. I just realised I've been gazing at the tank and its inhabitants for about 30 minutes now. very therapeutic indeed. Hope you guys like it. The tank still has a long way to go, but so far its going well minus the small algae incident.
  6. japanese rush, blue hygrophillia.
  7. They also prefer cooler waters, like 26-27 degs.
  8. tetra colourbiits. not a flake but are small granules - great for most fish.

  10. or 2 mel! lol. they are so pretty and active. never hide either. i need more of them and the royals.
  11. I hope Luca gets better too! Im sure you will, as a family have a great Christmas though.
  12. its a right pain to reproduce. the imports are 100% legal AFAIK, they have to prove the plants are not sourced from the wild.

L001's get BIG. I always recommend getting a small one and letting it grow in the tank cause a big one would wreck havoc on the plants.
  14. He has no name yet. But I usually try and train and tame at least one fish in my tank, and this guy has been my project for a week or so now. This is him Me going to say hello Then he says hello Then he weaves in and out of my fingers. yes, yes too much time, I know haha

  20. I will run the risk of saying no tank at all.
  21. I dont know what a lemon cichlid is. orange chromides are from india and like salt in their water, like africans. demasonis- get at least 12-15. i started with 25. not entirely sure what a powder blue is - if its comes from a shop its prob a blue zebra - then again electric blues on the list are also blue zebras, unless they are sold as frieri (sp??) prob wouldnt go down the johanni route in that tank - same with peacocks. yellows should be fine though HTH
  22. what ever they are, and i suspect they will be African, you will need real hiding spaces.
