    I'm New!

Welcome Would love to see some photos of your dogs
  3. Hi Arowana, Did your new fish start eating?
  4. Looking good Aaron! Regarding the Tiger Lotus, be aware that it will get progressively bigger and bigger and then one day you will come home and it will have doubled in size over 2 days and you can't see anything else in the tank! Great plants though! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  5. Any idea when it will be screening again? Really want to see it.

    I CAN DREAM

    Immediately envious!
  7. Anywhere! I've developed quite a taste for them, but only have the 1 variety and can't find any others!!!
  8. This reminded me of a thought I had and forgot about a little while ago! What different crypts are available in NZ?
  9. Yup - very common, store bought plants often don't have roots and all plants need a little while "in situ" before they start growing again.
  10. Bah, readin this makes me wish I was still in Fielding!
  11. Hi There. I have used some Daltons Propagating sand in my tank with no problems so far. It can be purchased from Garden Centres but requires a good wash/boil before adding to the tank.
  12. need to get home and check out the images!!!
  13. This reminds me - does anyone have any in AKL I could purchase? There are some on an auction site but there is no pickup and I don't like the idea of posting snails!!!
  14. I say a plastic one on TM that didn't really appeal. I really like the JBJ one but don't know if it can be bought here individually. Never used Ebay - wouldnt have a clue how to get the stuff here
  15. don't know - hopefully alan will be lurking and can shed some light
  16. Pics as promised. Apologies for any incorrect id's please feel free to provide latin names and correct names they will be noted for next time Blurry photo of the whole thing thus far: Algae growing on my red pine: Tiger Lotus from Angel spawning tank - somewhat light & nutrient deprived atm. Windelov fern Rotala Rotundifola Hygrophilia something As you can see, there is a LOT of growing still to be done! Hopefully it doesn't take to long!
  17. Have a needle valve, making a reactor. Problem - the only darn bubble counters I can find in NZ to buy are part of all in one setups. Can anyone please pretty please point me in the direction of one or 2?
  18. Will pop some of mine up when I can - hopefully tomorrow
  19. Oh dear.... wonder if they will reregister!
  20. Hi All, Is anyone else not able to get onto www.barrreport.com ???
  21. I'm interested as to what the last one is - I think I have some in my tank
  22. Hi All, Time for a little update I have been away from home since last Thursday to visit my parents in Fielding (got to visit Wet Pets!) and tramping over Tongariro - on a side note, if anyone read about the guy that was rescued from a snowcave - he was one of our party! Got to see how my tank was looking yesterday... Not so great The plants seem happy enough, lots of growth new growth, however, have a bit of an algae problem!! Lots of green stringy stuff! I am not to concerned at this stage and will be doing a water change every day if I can and removing as much as possible with a toothbrush. I am a little worried about the red pine as it seems to have got the worst of the algae and is fully covered in it. I got a bit of a shock when I saw my 2 ft though! The tiger lotus has gone bananas and its double the size I remember with pups bein spat out all over the place, and my crypts need some SERIOUS thining out (If anyone is interested in the crypt - pls PM me) Will have to trim the whole thing back tonight. Regarding my CO2 - looks like I will have to wait a while to get this up & running. I bought a new regulator and have a needle valve to use but cannot afford a bottle atm so am being patient I do have things to do in the meantime - Make the diffuser thingie and work out how to monitor flow with the setup I will be using! The CO2 will be going straight into the diffuser so I don't think a bubble counter will work! Pics to come later.
  23. 'm supersad to hear that living art Please let us know if there is anyway that I can help - don't have alot of $$ and can't house any big fish but would certainly volunteer at your park if need be.
  24. Making some slow progress - purchased a regulator!!! LE250-RG001 Now I just need to get a needle valve, solenoid valve & learn how to control how much CO2 is going into the Diffuser (and how much I need)!
