It's my 2 ft with the cover off I filled my 4 ft open top last night but I don't think enough light is getting to the bottom I can move the lights (4 x 4ft T8's)about 20 cm lower which will put them about 15 cm above the water level but still not sure if enough light will get down! its 50cm high with about 8 cm of substrate.

Hi There, How do you make a photo smaller (data-wise) I know changing the file type can do this ie jpg, bmp but can't for the life of me remember!

I feed my fry as often as I can but cant feed between 8 and 6 due to wrk >.<. The flatmates help out when they can! My other fish are fed twice a day, spoilt little buggers!

Will these guys survive on a sand substrate? note sure of the size, but its Daltons propagating sand if anybody knows it

I am in the final stages of setting up my planted tank. After reading various threads on here I decided to use just over an inch of Daltons aquatic mix on the bottom and a similar amount of Daltons propagating sand on top of it. You will definately need something on top of the Aquatic mix as it is essentially just clay! I would love to tell you how mine is going, but as I said, I have only just set it up - don't even have it fully filled as I need to get a brace replaced! If it helps, I got my Aquatic mix from Mitre 10 Mega and the propagating sand from Palmers plant place thingie
