I just bought it 3 days ago. Yesterday i went and bought some floating granuels for its being a top dwelling fish, he tryed one then spat it out. Why wont it eat?

i'm wanting to get some fine black sand.

i was thinking i could use sand blasting sand but don't know if it will do anything to the fish.

I've seen many fish tanks with sand in them, and i was just wondering what people use. To me it looks like sand blasting sand. (Its for a tropical tank). :-?
