u can get small really cheap skimmers off ebay that would fit into the back part of this tank my guess is u would be emptying them every day tho

plants that like hard alkaline water will tolerate a lil bit of salt , javamoss should also grow

yeah i wouldnt try it in a bare tank it would drive my bettas nuts they have plenty of plants to hide in if the other 1 gets too scary lol

i came up with this idea today when i put my fighters into a makeshift tank while i do stuff to their other tank, i cut a piece of perspex to fit in the tank diagonally from back left corner to the right front corner this was just a short cut making a divider but it actually looks quite cool as u cant c it at all from the front of the tank till u get up really close its really awesome seeing two male bettas in a tank like that pulling faces at each other

i have been told by a petshop to gut load mealworms with banana for my frogs also the is a calcium powder with minerals which u can dust onto flys to increase there usefullness

a lot of silicones have a mould inhibitor added this will generally be a copper based product so no good 4 fish , basically u should just read the label carefully if it says its safe 4 aquariums it will be selleys have 1 there is also a silaflex 1 which are fine for smaller tanks

i got hold of 1 that was not working 4 free once , i never got it working but it was identical to my aqua1 cf1200 just coloured like a eheim

mite be alrite as there wont be much of a gap between the blocks but a thicker board would be better

i work in a recycling centre 6 days on two off, on the two off i normally subcontract my labour mowing lawns and gardening also some specialist lawncare. i dont wana do this 4 ever so ill probably end up doin another course etheir in horticulture or mechatronics

nah the 3 fish forums are enuff 4 me, im interested in car audio and have a halfway decent system but its more anething technical or to do with electricty im into 4 example if fish tanks didnt have filters heaters lites and plumbing projects to mess around with and upgrade i would probably only be half as interested in this hobby as i am now!

look carefully at ur windscreen u might see a thin wire imbeddd into the glass goin around the outside this is ur aerial, if it gets too hard u could always buy a cowl mount aerial, as for the wire ur factory aerail wire is probably a 2-core conductor where as the more standard aerial systems use co ax like ur tv antennae at home, u cant blow anething up with ur aerial just dont put a current across it , basically the aerial is a conductor made to be a certain impedance to pick up radio waves, these travelling thru the air induce a current in the wire with ur headunit then amplifys

how do u artifically hibernate them?

i have had a pet rabbit die of rcd the breeder i got her off lost 60+ rabbits in a month, it is in CHCH but more so nth canterbury , just a thort though if ur rabbit gets it stay away from people u know have rabbits and also the local pet store(or at least the rabbit part in there) . its highly contagious even though it has no effect on humans we can carry it 4 around 3 months also insects , bedding , furniture we had to disinfect everything so our other rabbit didnt catch it. i recommend vaccination also this will prevent against the main strain of RCD it will do little against the newer variations tho

they love them but u have to make sure they are eating them b4 they get out of the dish and drown or burrow

it may be ok on top of a sheet of polystyrene and hanging over 1/2 an inch front and back (if its a commercially made tank rather than plain glass this may not work as some sit on a plastic rim right around the bottom) just remeber the tank will weigh 150kg(water)+ weight of empty tank+ whatevea u put in it like gravel fish rocks plants etc - weight of water displaced by these objects so u have to look at and say "is this going to be safe if it weighs 200kg?"
