If they're canister filters, Yeah, a clean beforehand and then I usually give them a quick rinse(More a filter water change) before turning them back on and that's it.

It's illegal to take the introduced, common, invasive predatory species out of the wild. It's perfectly legal to take the delicate threatened native species though....

If you have good airflow and some airspace leaving the glass on should be fine, as long as the glass doesn't get too hot you'll only need to worry about them holding heat in the tank. Glass does make a nice bang when it's overheated and breaks though...

Is it a reef tank? That will be good for a reef tank. Heaps for a FW planted tank.

I'd think all the fish you mentioned would be fine. Even a lot of cichlids would probably handle it once it's a little warmer if it doesn't drop too much. I've had my tropical tank down to 18° for a few weeks with no problems. They just swam a little slower.

You can hang them too.Most have a hole you can hang them from a nail or something. I've found even the best pumps I've had start silent but get a bit louder over time. Almost all move air by oscillating small bellows at mains frequency, so I don't think it's possible to do anything but minimize the hum.

Where did you buy the tank from? I seriously doubt anyone knowledgeable made it from laminated glass. Though, it is relatively common to put two layers of glass on the base, which would be technically laminated.

All else being equal(Which they never are) DSLRs tend to have a narrower DOF than point and shoots(lens and sensor sizes) but even a point and shoot at macro zooms can have a DOF about the size of a spider's head. One day I'll get a good camera with a good macro lens.

Not personal experience no. But it's fairly common. Most, maybe even all, anemones can walk around when they feel the need. Some species do it more than others. It's common on reef messageboards to hear about people's anemone walking into powerheads.

Probably helps even less when your wandering anemone wanders into the filter and gets chopped up and sprayed around the tank...Which now has no filtration because it has an anemone corpse clogging it.
