  1. Also, how long can you take them out to handle before having to put them back in for heat? Or are they quite hardy to stay out for 1-2 hours?
  2. After reading the bearded dragon care sheet maybe one of them would be alright. Now I can't decide Any suggestions? lol
  3. Hey all, I have been thinking about getting a reptile for a while and found that baby blue tongues seem to be the cheapest (on trademe) and easiest to care for after reading some info. Im thinking about what sort of enclosure I want to get but am not too sure, so looking for some suggestions? I've seen them kept in a large glass fish tank with a mesh lid thing but was thinking of maybe getting a professional setup like an exo terra enclosure. Also, blue tongues need a UV light but not a heating lamp? Are these UV lights readily available? Photos of some of your enclosures may help me out
  4. It will be insect proof, the lids don't allow any gaps. Was looking at green/golden bells but not too sure. suggestions?
  5. Yea I was going to cover it up with mesh. I thought that because of the lights it might affect it. Seems to be ok so far, will give it a real good clean tomorrow to get all the algae off the sides. Yea it was on trademe, that was me  Decided to keep it, price was heading a little low for me
  6. Im looking at converting my 260L aquarium into a large frog terrarium and was just wondering whether it would be appropriate. It is a fluval vicenza tank similar to this one: (Couldn't be bothered taking pictures of mine and then uploading them etc etc.... ) Anyway, im testing out my tank at the moment with some water in it and the lights on to see if it will get too much condensation on the front, thus making it harder to see. There is a little round cap that pops off the back cover for some ventilation as well.
  7. Do you not need to dechlorinate the water? I would love to use something like this but have to use aqua plus on the tap water so I lug about 6-8 buckets from the laundry to the tank each time
  8. I like Harlequin Rasboras. They are hardy (in my tank at least) and while they may not seem too colourful when there are only a few, once you put a large school of them in there it looks fantastic
  9. Yoyo's are awesome. So playful and curious
  10. No I didn't notice anything about my BN before I found him dead. Not sure whats up with the tetras, some of them is a bit white around its nose, I had some others with the same thing that died about 1 month or 2 ago as well
  11. My big bristle nose died the other day. Probably a little over a year old, I came home to find him on the bottom with pretty much all his skin stripped off (thanks to other fish). Stink too he was the big and funky to look at. And now I think my lemon tetras have some sort of disease

    Hi all

Hi all, long time member, not much of a poster. Recently really getting back into fish keeping, has been an on off hobby over the recent years depending on study and work etc...Anyway, at the moment I have a peaceful 260L community tank (pics below) and will be buying another tank next year once I get a job after graduating. Here're the pics! (excuse blur/flashy images, can never seem to get a perfect picture of the tank): Flash Non flash Our siamese fighter. We have had him for a little over a year. Other fish in the tank are: Harlequin Rasbora Lemon Tetra Zebra/ Leopard Danios Guppies Golden Honey Gourami Bristle noses (who've just had babies!) Yoyo loaches Bronze Cories
  13. I generally turn mine up to 28 in the winter, just in case. Back down to 26 in summer
  14. I've followed Wet Pets instructions and nothing bad has ever gone wrong *knocks wood* Put the bag in a bucket, open it up, fill the bag with your own tank water so that there is 1/2 old water 1/2 new water, leave 10 mins, into new home!
  15. Heres mine, like I posted in beginners corner: 260L Fluval Vicenza tank In there I have: 2 bristlenoses' 6 assorted cories (2 bronze, 2 leopard, and 2 panda/bandit) 10 neons 9 harlequins 6 male guppies (gf's favorite  haha) 2 Gouramis 1 Siamese Fighter Male 5 Lemon Tetra Looking add a few more to the tetra schools and the harlequins and then I'll probably be done. Start saving the the next tank!
