  1. I need to replace the T8 (they're the big ones right?) tubes in my 4ft light (just one of those Aquaone black ones that sit on the glass). I was just going to buy them from Hutt Pets where they are about $40ish but I am wondering if they are any cheaper at hardware or lighting shops or if you can even get those kinds of bulbs from places other than pet stores? Or are they special aquarium ones? I really don't want that yellowy light some of them have, I want the really crisp whitey blue old lady's hair colour.
  2. Thanks for all the amazing adjustments you have made!! Now if only I can find someone skilled enough on Photoshop to edit out my mother's acid tongue
  3. I would like to remove my Mum's arm from this photo (it is on the left, leaning over the back of my great aunt's chair). If anyone can help I would really appreciate it!! I would like to have a large version of this printed (without the arm!) - it was taken last Christmas during a bout of giggles. She is 107 and this year became the oldest person in NZ! http://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL1517/ ... 451167.jpg
  4. Defo. And maybe Pride & Prejudice, the BBC version but it is about 8 hours long. 8 hours of Colin Firth though is never a bad thing.
  5. yes. And I am not breastfeeding the fish, at this stage.
  6. Oh and he's not really tiny, he's about 5cm
  7. Lol at the moment my dinners involve a bowl of food my husband has cut up into bite sized chunks, eaten with a spoon, with a baby clamped on one boob! I can't remember the last time I sat at the actual dining table or even ate in the living area! Maybe there's some wisdom in your decision to not have children :-) nah it's lovely though. Oh yeah and so is the fish!
  8. This is my birthday present. My husband keeps calling him a EBPD (Electric Blue Patrick Dempsey) so I have named him McDreamy.
  9. We spent Christmas in a village called Muff once. In Ireland.
  10. Just wondering if any of you fix your tanks to the wall in any way, for earthquake reasons, and if so, how?
  11. I have that lens too but it isn't a macro lens as far as I am aware. It is a great lens though.
  12. Is this a good one? Does anyone have one of these? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Electronics-ph ... 522721.htm
  13. I knew about salmonella but can you get tuberculosis too??
  14. I now have upgraded my tank from 3ft to 4ft and it is a frightening volume of water to have in the living room. I am wondering if anyone knows which insurance company would be the one to go for, for coverage of the tank but moreso, for covering consequential loss, should the worst happen. And by the worst, I mean if I should accidentally drop an anvil on the tank or throw it and accidentally hit the tank. Which would be by accident. I don't mean if the tank failed. Because that would be wear and tear. We are with State at the moment and I am fairly sure they wouldn't be the right company to stay with.
  15. Are there any plants that some peacocks, a sev and some powder blues could have in the tank and not eat?
  16. I am collecting my 4ft tank in the next few weeks, which is an uPgrade from my current 3ft Malawi setup. I am thinking about substrate. It's been suggested I use black substrate (my current tank has silica sand). What kind of substrate is black and suitable for (mostly) Malawi cichlids? And where can I buy it?
