  1. Having worked in a boarding kennel it is definatley not good practice to put dogs from different families in together. I would recommend contacting someone re: advice on the legal matters here. Can you obtain a copy of their kennel contract? (i know you said you didnt sign anything) BUT this is their slip up for not getting you to sign something. This will help back things up if it turns nasty.

    What is this?

it must have been using detol hand sanitizer as it only has 3 germs on it.
  3. x 1 male for me too. 2cm gap tho
  4. hubby has had a couple and said the same. needle hurts a little (but what one doesnt??) Only gives temporary relief, but then again depends on what it's for.
  5. When i 1st moved to Wanganui, my dog had the neighbours cat bailed up on our car roof, i didnt think he'd get it, but the cat made a run and he managed to grab it and tore it to pieces. When i found the owner (3 doors down) he was very understanding and said the cat should have never been there in the 1st place. But on the other hand... if it was my cat i'd be really gutted by it. I wouldnt expect my neighbours with dogs to pay for vet bills, as someone has already said, it's what cats and dogs do. A year before i moved down here, my dog was moving some sheep along a single lane - dead end road where i lived. A car went thru the mob, hit my dog and carried on. My dog shot home and stayed under the house for the rest of the day. He was fine, just in shock. A week later i recieved a panelbeaters quote from the ppl in the car from the damage caused by them hitting my dog. Stating that my dog should not have been on a public road. I wrote a very well-worded letter explaining i had informed the police of the said "hit-and-run" and if they wanted me to pay the panelbeater, i would happily, and they could pay the vet bill that came to double theirs. I also had copied it and wrote on the letter "copy". I think this scared them off as i never heard from them again. Unfortunatley these things happen, and everyones got their own opinion on what should happen. Hopefully your dog wont eat the cat in future
  6. Pretty sure, saw the male in there doing his thing. Yep, always do. Hopefully not, i thought i saw more eggs and eyes once back in the bag so looking forward to re-wetting (korth).
  7. No luck. Have re- bagged the peat and will try again this weekend. Also i had the guentheri [sp] wet for 2 weeks and didnt see any fry. have re bagged them up yesterday.
  8. Yep, they get removed from the mop / java moss and placed into a floating container - with tank water. Have never added meth blue before but am now.
  9. my 2 different type of killes have just started laying eggs again ( australe gold and Aplocheilus lineatus ) but there seems to be alot fungusing. I have started to add meth blue to stop the spread but at least 2-3 eggs a day are growing fuzz. both sets are fertile and have bred before, just had a break from each other. :-? Any suggestions? ta.

    Cory Beeding Tip

Cool, thanks for the tip and well done on the eggs.
  12. We have just done the same, downsized from a falcon wagon to a nissan primera wagon. Very nice car to drive. Been warned away from the subaru legacy and the mitzi legnums. (just thru faults - from a friend who owns mechanic / wof place) I'd back up hondas too, theyre decent cars. Good luck.
  13. Awesome looking fish, we're heading up that way between xmas an new year so hoping to call in (if youre open) and say hi.
  14. Oh thanks ppl. well his second word was truck, he loves wheels and motorbikes. he has an electric motorbike that he rides round the house and stands on the seat while it's going.......... so maybe a crusty demon in the training? the wiggles are a must for occupying them on a rainy day when i need to get the housework done i'm afraid.
  15. yep i know but my son loves dorothy....... ( he's only 1) and does the cutest boogie to them.
  16. My son was tap, tap tapping on the open laptop and when i went to use it.... to google the wiggles, W5 came up instead of wi. theres small blue numbers (and symbols) above the large letters and somehow he's changed it. How do i change it back? thanks
  17. Awww, c'mon people. get your swiss army knife out, some duct tape, some string, piece of hose................
  18. I personally wouldnt do 50% water changes as you'll probably end up sucking out the babies or eggs. Mine lived last year happily in a bath tub and bred like crazy. I had 4 M and 6 F. did a couple of syphons from the bottom but really just left them to it.

    Tail Clamping?

just a thought in the middle of the night.... i have turned my water return around so theres not much surface movement now. Should i start up the airstone again? only if it'll make a difference.

    Tail Clamping?

In the last 2 days, 2 different breed of young killies have presented with their tail fins in a point rather than splayed. They seem to have trouble keeping swimming and the youngest was almost pale and slightly bent. Now i have only done 1 water change in the last month  neglect i know..... would this be the only problem? they (fishes) were all fine yesterday and the days before. Apart from a decent water change tomorrow, is there anything else i can do? Is it worth chucking them into a seperate container?
  22. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR YESTERDAY TOO :bounce: sorry dont get on here that much at mo.
  23. Grab some tank water and put the eggs/ plants in to seperate from the parents or they'll just eat them. try to get either liquifry or boiled egg yolk to feed them and read up on raising fry. it's pretty easy as long as you keep the water clean. Dont need an airstone until later on. have a look at this: http://www.aqualandpetsplus.com/Live%20Food,%20Goldfish.htm
