How many noodles will my tank need? It didnt have them when I got it (second hand) and I have no idea of how many to get?

Thanks! Thats a really handy website! And do you know, all my tank has in it is the blimmin black filter sponges!! No noodles, wool or carbon cartridges!! I imagine fish keeping will get MUCH easier once I have all the proper equipment!! LMAO!

Hmmm.... I have this black stuff which I would describe as a pot scourer...lol. Not sure of technical name...

Can someone tell me (a REAL novice) what I should replace in the top of my tank and where to get it from? At the moment I have a powerhead and a bar that has holes in it which goes over this black harsh sponge. My water has cleared (I did have algae which I cured by using the black out method) but I still have LOTS of white floating particles which my filtration system is not clearing out. Do I just replace the sponges or is there something more that I can use which is better?

I have half wine barrel which has a waterlily and many goldies in it. It isnt lined with anything, but I left it for two weeks submerged in a trough (farm water trough) to expand and become water tight. Have had it up and running for two years now with no problems.

I have had a tank (AR620T) for over a year now with no problems... anyway... me being me (silly in hindsight!) decided to do a full water change to clean all the stones etc in the tank. I didnt clean the filtration system other than the plastic pad thingees (yes, I am getting technical now..lol). Anyway, my tank (since the change) has been getting greener and greener...ICK! I got some Algae Rid and used that yesterday.. but so far no change.... I dont know the PH etc of the tank, but until the water change I never had a problem (other than the sides of the tank which was kept clean with the magnetic cleaner). Any ideas or help would be GREATLY appreciated! Oh, the tank holds two Axos and three goldies (feeder fish which the axos never ate!)

do they need a filter or air stone??

Goldfish laid eggs a few days ago and today they are at it again!! I am not really set up for eggs as its an inside tank and I dont have other tanks. I do have an outside pond so I am wondering whether I should take the grass that she has laid the eggs in and put it in the outside tank? Or will it be too cold? :-?

Thanks.. will try that! Now mummy fish is swimming close to the surface of the water... very slowly. Havent noticed it before. Goldies arent like salmon are they?? Dont they lay there eggs then die??! Or do fish sleep?? She laid the eggs on Friday.

So, do I put them outside? Or will the temp change be too much for the wee things? I have them in a bag inside the tank now.. the goldies looked like they were eating them, so hopefully this was an ok thing to do - short term... but long term???!

I have an outside goldfish pond which has had goldfish in it - until a kingfisher came visiting!! Should I put the plant in there?? Or in a large gladbag that is opened and left to float??!
