  1. good news - they haven't melted yet and theres a couple of babys from each plant now :bounce:
  2. Got paid sooner than I thought So I brought 6 today. 2 males and 4 females. Look awesome in the tank. I like it how they stay still & dart around the tank. The shark checked them out a bit & they scattered  he's just being curious 8)
  3. I'll do that then:) I can't wait to get them! But it'll probably be a few weeks away
  4. Cool, i'll definitly be getting them Should I cover the gap? its about 10x4cm
  5. Found that my lounge tank will be 99% stocked once i get my new fish And for the big tank in my room I got: bolded bit is funny cos my shark is already with the loaches & had no losses
  6. I think i'm looking at getting 6. I hope my cat can enjoy watching them too. The other day we were watching the tank & the shark came forward. My cat launched forward & the shark got such a fright. hilarious to watch
  7. I'm leaning towards dwarf neons too. I've never had rainbows before Are they jumpy? Theres quite a large gap because of the hang on filter. But i can fill it if they are likely to jump.
  8. I'd let the weed-look of my tank take over for too long so I re-planted it a couple of weeks ago. Went from: To: As this is really the 'display' tank i'm also changing the fish. (its the only tank in a family room) I'm keeping the red tailed black shark & the 2 kribs (getting a second female, so will have 3 kribs), and some female gbas. the fish which i'm going to get have to be visible from the other side of the room - i'm trying to decide between Tiger barbs, Banded barbs or Dwarf neon rainbows. Any opinions?
  9. my fav would be my Albino Rainbow Shark - Margulies. Mainly because he's been with me since the begginning of my fish keeping (about 7 yrs) And because he's quite passive, but can whip around the tank and show his dominance too. He used to eat from my hand to - very gentle He likes the feel of bubbles
  10. mines from my cat Firefly & that I like fish so I stuck them together. only after did I find out about firefish being a marine fish
  11. my betta had a similar problem - he seemed normal except for the bloating & then after a few weeks it turned into dropsy
  12. I get to feed a red panda on the 24th & the usual close family & presents & food on the 25th 8)
  13. Hadn’t been to Orana park before. Did the Lemur encounter: And the Lion encounter: And the Elephant Encounter (lol)
  14. Then to Christchurch: Went to the Antarctica Centre Penguins being fed And I ‘found’ my dad on the wall: He didn’t actually know anything about the pics being there! In the pic he’s surveying at Shackleton’s hut
  15. A week-ish ago I came back from my holiday down south. Went to Kaikoura and Christchurch. Heres some pics from the trip: Kaikoura panorama: Went Whale Watching: Saw Some Dusky Dolphins And Seagull Feeding
  16. I separated them today. I decided to take the smaller one too. The roots on the larger baby was twice as long as the plant hopefully they'll grow
  17. Should I snip it closer to the little plant? The plant is about as big as the adult one when I first got it.
  18. I wanna have the baby crypt in another tank (the other tank is quite close, but I don't think that the crypt would spread that far  )
  19. I thought it might have been that easy. Thanks for helping
  20. A while back, I saw that my crypt had a baby (whats the name for a plant baby?) Now its gotten bigger & theres another baby too :bounce: I'd like to separate the older baby - but whats the best way? This is the 3 plants: And the bases: Its the one on the left that i'd like to separate. It has about 5 leaves now
  21. This is the only pic that i've got of my male His bristles are quite clumped & centered compared to my male gba
  22. New pic of the 120 spawn: Kinda looks like a little army ready to charge! (they were actually clumped together cos Kingston jumped into their breeding net - so i might have less than 120 now  )
  23. I was in christchurch a couple of years ago & I went to most of the pet shops - I'd love to go back to Redwoods But i'm going with a non-fishy friend - are there some shops near ? (or even in redwood?)
