    Tank Re-do

This is what the tank ues to look like: I got annoyed with the mass of ambulia (which wasn't growing well) and the polysperma, which was growing well at the top, but too well at it blocked the light so there was only reduced leaves at the bottom. I yanked the plants out, and now it looks like: My mum thinks its got enough plants in it & my dad said it looked empty  And i'm in between. Any ideas? Comments? I think i'd like to put in a tiger lotus between the crypt and the coconut shell.
  2. I'm going to chch in two months time :bounce: At the moment i'm looking at which bus routes to take. But i haven't found one to (or near) Troup Drive off Clarence Street (for the tranzcoastal) Any ideas on which bus route will get me there?

    Whiptail ID

I've got two of those. While searching through my fishy books i found what they actually are: Its from Axelrod's Mini Atlas One of the book's symbols means it likes vegetable matter
  4. i know this isn't lovebirds, but when i had 2 budgies and a few zebra finches we decided to intergrate them together. We put the cages side by side for a couple of months, then put them in the same cage. They all got a long fine
  5. Wellington would be a silly name for him  Although after naming him Kingston i found out that theres a suburb in wgth called kingston . Just shows how little i know about wgtn
  6. Dragonfly - cat my sister picked it, not sure why Firefly - Dragonflys brother ( i thought their names should match  ) Jade - my love bird, cos she's green 8) Abby & Joey - angel fish Luka & Chuck - Yoyo loaches Gil - Red tailed shark Emmett - BN Jasper - Betta Leah - GBA Edward & Bella - Gbas Margulies - Albino Rainbow Shark Kingston - African Butterfly fish (I don't name fish that i can't tell apart) How i name my fish is from books/tv programmes. Gil is from CSI, not cos he has gills
  7. That would be great Hopefully she wants to catch some insects for kingston.... Its in a 100 litre tank. At night i call him a silent killer, the way he patrols the tank looking for food
  8. I wasn't actually planning on feeding him flakes, he chose to eat them
  9. yeah, its a pantodon butterfly fish. Any insects that would be bad for it? With my sister coming home this weekend i could get her to feed Kingston something
  10. Its fun trying to feed him . So far he's eaten some flakes. I brought him some freeze dried plankton but he doesn't seem to think its food yet
  11. I got some more pics the other day, Agouti Chimps Cotton Top Tamarin A bird flying
  12. Do you have a ceiling fan in your kitchen?
  13. I've got a 100 litre tank, from memory its 75cm long, 40cm high and 40cm wide. Its got a fluval 3 internal filter and a hang-on filter. I'd like to know how many dwarf chain loaches i could fit in the tank to go with: 4 bolivian rams 2 gbas 1 albino rainbow shark (and the 5 dwarf chain loaches i'va already got )
  14. Wow! i love the red panda pics Aquilam! I can never seem to get good pics of them
  15. I visited the zoo again this weekend. Heres some more pics: Dingoes: Madagascan Day Geckos: Giraffes: Ruffled Lemurs: Blue Tounge Lizards: Painted African Dog:
  16. I'd go for a lovebird. I've had both budgies and i've got a love bird now. (the difference was my budgies weren't tame tho) I found that my budgies would scream in the morning! it got very annoying  I think my cage is 70x45x85(high) cm If you did get a lovebird, make sure you teach them from the start to not bite finger nails, cos when their beak gets stronger it'll be able to rip your finger nail off :-? Personality wise i'd go with a lovebird
  17. I've got 2 cats and a lovebird. The cats are fine with the bird. But i know that every cat is different. It was a surprise to me that my cats weren't interested in the bird cos they are very good predators  But mind you, when i let my bird out of the cage the cat is out of the room It sounds really unfair that you said no cats and they have a cat
  18. I boiled it. Thats about all
  19. I'd been planning to change my fish for a while now. I've also changed the plants around too. Full view: some of the 13 Cardinal tetras: One of the 4 bolivian rams: Half of the dwarf chain loaches: I'm happy with how it looks
  20. I made a thoughtless mistake at work, I was meant to send a letter overseas. To do that i had to put an airmail sticker on it. Of course i stuffed up and put a fastpost sticker on. Not sure what happened to the letter  And i've done lots of other mistakes but none are very interesting
  21. Nah, the shark is really good natured. He even leaves baby guppies uneaten! (or he eats some, but not enough for me to notice  )

Any problems?
  23. he sometimes does a sweep of the tank, but he's a well behaved shark Theres some really young guppies in the tank atm but he hasn't really touched them
