  5. Persicaria odorata is my guess, also know as Vietnamese Mint. Look at the dark pattern on that large leaf.
  6. Hi had just arrived, hence his fascination with the sand in the first image, went straight to his mouth after that. It was blimin hot here today and hardly a breath of wind. That was at about 10am this morning. Wanted to be home before the midday heat began. He went for his first swim in the ocean too. He loved it.
  7. I stopped using Plantgeek a long time ago, seemed to be very few posting and not very interesting posts at that. I prefer http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/forumapc/
  8. Go visit your local appliance retail store ( Noels or Harveys etc) they pay to have it removed, I am sure they can give you plenty. At work we get sheets of it from the Refrigerator packaging. HTH
  9. Let me know if you want some wendtii, I will have a heap for sale real soon. I am pulling apart my second to last existing planted crypt tank.
  10. Its in the nature of some fish to nibble at the greenery. If you block it off totally you need to use something that will not restrict water flow or else it will prob be detrimental to the plant in the long run. It will also create areas for detritus to gather and algae. How big is the sword and tank?
  11. Last week Wanganui was fortunate to put on great weather and a great time in hosting the 2012 International VCC Rally. There was 200 overseas entrants who had joined 500 New Zealand vehicles in the 10-day event. Special guest was Nick Mason ( drummer from Pink Floyd) who opened the event. It was awesome to see so many cars just cruising around town. I live right across the road from the event headquarters so was seeing hundreds of different cars each night from my lounge window. As part of the ending of the event the cars did a final parade around the city to allow the public to view them as they went by, three groups headed off in three directions so that each part of town got to see some cars. I went and sat at the gate as one of the groups was leaving( they left from different gates) and took some photos of some of the cars. Unfortunately I never got any photos of some of the really old buggy type cars but I got some nice big posh ones. Click my link to view just a few of the cars I photographed as they left on the parade. http://www.flickr.com//photos/supasi/sets/72157629051614399/show/ Enjoy

Maybe you are thinking of Aponogeton rigidifolius??? But your description sounds like C. balansae
  15. I know that :sml2: Temptation got the better of me :nilly:
  16. Wasp nest are best dealt to at night when the wasps are inside the nests asleep. I suggest you look into getting a professional round to remove it as they can be quite nasty when they are not happy. :digH: I destroyed a nest once with petrol at night, but I would not recommend it if it is in the house. The nest I destroyed was in the ground at the back of a large property. (I gave into temptation and peer pressure and ignited the nest. Lesson learned, do not forget about the child in the shower in the house 40metres away who is using all the water pressure and leaves you with nothing to control the fire with. I killed the nest, but also lost half a hedge in doing so. :gigl: )
  17. Just came across this site that has some inspirational reading for Aquaponics setups etc. http://www.backyardaquaponics.com/ http://theaquaponicsource.com/learn-about-aquaponics/ Enjoy
