  1. Thanks Zev, think we were going to do it through Vodafone though, since I assume it'll just go on our monthly internet/phone bill. They offer email accounts too. Can you tell me what virtual hosting is? I would ring Vodafone and ask them all this, but fear getting someone whose native language is not English. Seems to happen everytime I have to ring them....
  2. My husband wants to register a domain name. I'm not at all familiar with this process or what I have to do exactly. Our ISP is through Vodafone, I understand they can set up the domain name for us. Does this mean they will host the website as well? Or do we have to get another company to do that?
  3. So not my cup of tea either, but eh each to their own.
  4. Fiordland is my backyard heheh. Been there quite a few times. If you go to school in Southland, chances are you'll go on a school camp at Deep Cove. Best school camp ever! The big trees could be Totara. In the Lilburn Valley area there is what is known as Big Totora Walk where you can walk through the bush through a small forest of totara trees which are over 1000 years old. They are quite impressive.
  5. On the subject of kittens, just thought some of you might be interested. http://www.stuff.co.nz/life-style/blogs/four-legs-good My Murphy features today
  6. I wouldn't stress about that too much just yet, she only just moved in, probably still settling in. It'll take a few days or so for her to settle into her new home and routines.
  7. Aww she is cute!! Very unique markings. Love the name too. Our vet has a scheme where they send us worming tablets every 3 months. They send us the bill for it at the same time. For five cats and two dogs its about $26. Maybe you could check with your vet to see if they run a similar program? Certainly helps with me, I'd forget to do it otherwise.
  8. Congratulations What is she? Thought of a name yet?
  9. Yeah I have to say I like the Tui one too.
  10. Yeah wet backs are awesome. Wish we had one, our logburner is right next to the water cylinder... For our power bills we're on the smooth pay thing, we pay $112 per fortnight, and during summer our account goes into massive credit, ready for the big power bills in winter. I much prefer it this way because you don't get those unexpected large bills. Its always $112 per fortnight.
  11. No worries. Yep, there are heaps of clown loaches for sale, they are a popular loach. Unfortunately alot of them will end up like your little guy, in tanks far to small for them. They are cool though. I'd absolutely love some myself, but my tank isn't big enough. One day I'll get a custom made tank and it will be big enough for clowns
  12. Unfortunately some shops will disregard the welfare of a fish for the sake of a sale. On the other hand the lady may actually not have known that they do grow that big. There are other loaches available that are smaller but just as entertaining. Zebra Loaches for example. Not as colourful though. Dwarf chain loaches are even smaller, again not as colourful as the clown loaches, but do have a unique patterning on them. Your little guy will be ok short term, but will eventually need to be rehomed.
  13. You should do that, Zev! I have stashed unwanted vegetables in some strange places as a kid. I once recall stuffing steamed swede down my Cabbage Patch Kid's pants...
  14. Its not the just the tip, its the whole strand.. i suppose it could be brown.. will check on that.
  15. I have a similar thing happening to my twisted val at the moment, some strands are turning red? Is this a bad thing?
  16. But the small loaches will soon grow into big loaches. I agree with everyone saying you need to get rid of them. A group of Zebra loaches will be much more suited to your tank. They do not grow nearly as big as clown loaches and are an effective snail eater.
  17. Are you planning on getting a much bigger tank for when you need to rehome your clown loach and get him some friends? Clown loaches grow big, about 20-30 cm. Your tank will become far too small. The generally recommended minimum tank size is 75 gallon (approx 280 litres) They also are much happier in groups, 5 or more.
  18. I got a carrot from my garden about that size this year. No photos of it though. Do have some photos of mutant carrots though...
  19. heheh some dwarf cichlids like Rams might be ok..
  20. ??? This is a chinchilla.... I have no idea what a "chinchiller" is. Perhaps you might like to describe it?
  21. Agree with this too. Although my Dwarf Chain Loaches will often feed on flake food at the surface. They don't appear to be nippy though.
  22. Cellophane? If this is what Cricketman is talking about, it should be easy to find. The Warehouse or stationery shops should stock it.
