  1. Ha! And I was so going to report you for using the word crap.
  2. Actually I've recently found that it might. I've experimented with water out of the tap. It comes out of my tap around 6.8-7.0 then I add API water conditioner and the test water noticeably changes from a slight green to a more blue colour, indicating that the pH is rising.. To the OP, you haven't stated what the problem with your pH is. I assume by the advice given by a shop that your pH is too high?? How high is it? A few more details about the tank might be handy too, such as how long has it been running, what size, what its stocked with etc?
  3. All it needs is some strobe lights and a smoke machine.
  4. I really like it - might do something similar with my new tank.
  5. If the assessors you are waiting for are from Cunningham Lindsey, then rest assured, they are trying to get to you as fast as they can
  6. I remember when I was uhh.. young. Back in the day when "cassingles" were still around I had the Breathe cassingle. It had Their Law (live) on it.. good times. Unfortunately, right now all I can hear is All That She Wants by Ace of Base on More FM.
  7. No. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the fact that they aren't signed to a label..
  8. Tried both, not available on either. Yet. The CD isn't released until 16 Nov so maybe I just have to wait.
  9. The CD I'm wanting is the new album by Parabelle. They are a Canadian band. Album is being released in November, comes with an autographed T-shirt, and theres another T-shirt I thought I would get at the same time.. Will try Real Groovy too.
  10. Thanks Sam. Checked that out.. gonna cost me US$83.00 for just a CD!!! Might just have to do a digital download and forget the t-shirts
  11. Theres some stuff that I want to purchase from a website that doesn't do shipping to New Zealand. I don't know anyone in the US or Canada so can't get it shipped there then forwarded on. I know theres a website buyusa that allows you to have a virtual address, but that seems to be for larger scale purchases and you have to have an annual subscriotion. All I want is a CD and a couple of t-shirts. Though there might be a website similar to buyusa that might do something like this on a smaller scale?? Anyone know?
  12. If you wanted to go for a smaller loach Zebra or Yoyo loaches will also eat snails, but not get as large as clown loaches. Had a big infestation of snails years ago, bought two Zebra loaches and they cleaned the lot up within a couple of weeks.
  13. Time for an update on the bird anyway??
  14. I wasn't there when the deal was done but my husband is under that impression. Like I said before no mention of warrant or registration was made when the two guys were checking it over before making the offer on the Friday, papers were then signed the same day. I've just been speaking to one of my workmates and he seems to think there may have been some recent rule changes... hmmm Exactly. This salesman is no spring chicken. He's been in the game for a long time. He should know.
  15. Thanks guys, yeah the vehichle in question is subject to RUC too but I think its still got a few kms left on it. He said not to worry about that anyway. On Friday (I was not present so can't be 100% sure but hubby was there) no one mentioned that the warrant or rego was out or that it us bring it up to date was a condition of the sale. Two guys were checking the vehicle over to make a trade in offer, which was $5k. Hubby apparently signed documents on Friday. We handed the cheque over for the rest on Saturday, at which point we were told the vehicle we were buying needed brake pads for a warrant. Monday came and went with the vehicle still not in our possession because parts didn't arrive. Tuesday we were told parts arrived, should be done today, but they rang me about 4:45pm to say it won't be ready because someone ordered the wrong parts. As I'd been driving the trade in vehicle unregistered and unwarranted for two days in preparation for the exchange, I wasn't too impressed at having to drive it a third day, since I'm not used to driving a slow as column shift diesel ute! He then told me that if I wanted to, I could drop off the ute and take one of their loan cars for the night, which I did. It was while we were waiting for that to be sorted that he mentioned the rego and warrant. I think because of them having to do the brake pads/rotors/idlers whatever etc to our new vehicle (which he said was quite expensive) that he's trying to recoup some of the money he is going to lose by having to get our trade in vehicle a warrant and rego. Hopefully hubby is able to sort him out today...
  16. Hubby and I have just traded a vehicle in for another one. The one we traded in, the warrant and registration just expired like 10 days ago. We didn't actually realise this at the time of arranging the sale. Do we have a legally have to trade in the vehicle with a current warrant and registration? Hubby doesn't think so. Its just that I went to pick up new vehicle today and car salesman said that legally the one we traded has to have a current warrant and 3 months registration.. yet they checked the vehicle last week and never said a thing about the rego and warrant being out. Surely that is something they would check for.
  17. Three at the moment, but about to dismantle the AR380, and I'm in the process of setting up my new Juwel.

Yeah I'm a petaholic too... 6 cats, 2 dogs, 1 established tank with 30 odd fish, just bought another small one in the weekend - now looking for plants to put in it
  19. The grey ones you saw may have been stressed at the time. They go a lighter grey colour when stressed. Not always. I had mine since he was a juvenile, and he recently became agressive towards a larger zebra loach, a species of which he had been living with for quite some time. Mine used to patrol ALL of the hiding places in my tank, chasing any fish that was occupying it. He had to go. Now lives in the local vets tank with a bunch of guppies and bristlenoses. I think it was a case of my tank was becoming to small for him as he grew.
  20. You may think this brightly coloured collection of cupcakes was for a child, it was not. Try a 33 year old male.
