  1. Did anyone have problems doing this on FB? I first answered 20 questions, then read that the more you do the more accurate it is, so changed it to 100, then I couldn't get it to load properly. Finally got it to load, answered the 100 questions then clicked to see results and it didn't load my results :\
  2. That is so cute. Happy Birthday Jade! :bounce:
  3. I was going to post earlier, but then decided against it because I don't alot about who of my family was involved in WW2. I know my Grandad (Robert Martin) was involved, stationed in Egypt (I learned this only just yesterday) but I have no idea what he did. Hubby's Grandad (Edward Heenan) was also in WW2, had something to do with communications in the trenches in Egypt. He apparently wrote a book about it, but does not like to talk about it at all. Hence I guess why my husband knows very little about it. My husband has just told me that his Great Uncle was a spotter on an island in the Pacific. Him and his company were beheaded when the island was taken over by the Japanese because they were treated as spies.
  4. Well for us we have a particularly small, pokey bathroom which is also our toilet. We would have to walk across the bathmat to get to the toilet. If you weren't being careful you could slip on it. Its not one of those rubber grip ones, just a towel type one. And yes, hang it up to dry it too.
  5. Sorry to hear about your cat Carlos & Siran. RIP Luna. This sounds exactly like my Murphy! Except for the eating bit. She still eats, although it appears to cause her some pain at times. Her fur is terribly matted, I really not sure what to do with it. She's been to the vet though and they said her kidneys "feel fine" and sent her home with no diagnosis. We have no idea how old she is, as she came to us as a stray in 2002, and at that time a vet estimated her age was 4, but I thought she could have been older than that. So other than a bit of difficulty eating, manky matted fur and excessive thirst, she appears to be a happy cat. Content to stretch out in front of the fire or at this moment curl up in a cardboard box beside the fire! She's not a cuddly lap cat though so perhaps when she does become one, we'll know its time.
  6. No worries Barrie. All very interesting. So the damage is done. The shower was practically brand new 3 years ago when we moved in. For a time I did dry it off with a towel after showering but somewhere along the way it apparently got forgotten. Forget training my husband to do it, he hasn't even mastered picking the mat up off the floor. I used that Easy off BAM! stuff on it this morning, it seemed to take away the cloudyness, but i was still left with the white water spot bits. Think I'll take Ira's advice Sounds like it would be expensive to remove and it doesn't bother me THAT much. Will do the squeegy thing to stop it from getting worse though.
  7. I'm sure I've tried Jif. I use that on the rest of the shower.. maybe I'll give that another go
  8. This isn't about my tank, but my glass shower doors. They appear to have lots of water staining/spots on them. Googled for some answers, but so many things recommended are american/overseas products that aren't available here.. and there is just too many other recommendations such as vinegar, WD-40, CLR, meths that I'm not sure about. I also searched the forums as I do recall a discussion on this some time ago, but couldn't find anything because apparently the word "water" gets ignored. So effectively I was searching for "removing spots" Any ideas?
  9. Try the city council? Sounds weird I know but the Iinvercargill CC used to have a website that collected data from the weather stations around the city and reported them to the website. It had historical weather data too. I would post a link to said website but they took it down a few months ago. Not sure why.
  10. Ah! Now I know I saw him cos thats what I could see - the white tips moving about
  11. Edgar needs to sucker himself on the glass right infront of the camera!
  12. Ottos I believe are good algae eaters but sensitive to water conditions so need to be added to a well established and well maintained tank. I've read that Rainbow Sharks will take offence to anything of a similar shape to them. This would make sense since they are both from the Cyprinidae family and Epalzeorhynchos genus. Flying Foxes are also apparently quite aggressive so this might not be a good idea. As far as I'm aware corys do not eat algae. So looks like you either wait until your tank is well established and add some Otocinclus or employ an algae scraper on a regular basis
  13. Another thought, I'm not sure if its correct since I have no experience with angels and I don't know how territorial they are, but perhaps they're a bit upset with the new tank. The move may have upset their pecking order/territories?
  14. A bit more detail required. Size of tank, number of angels you have? How long have they been in the new tank? Have you tested the water for ammonia, nitrate, nitrite etc?

    random

Are you THAT short on time? My guess is probably not if you have time to post your so-called random stuff. Which to me just seems more like rubbish than randomness. Typing as per the above makes you seem, to me at least, very unintelligent. Why not make a bit of effort and learn to type properly?
  16. Yeah it was a bummer. Both my husband and I are real animal lovers and he in particular really likes birds. So it was really cool to see an owl up close. He had gorgeous eyes.
  17. Thats what hubby said too. Unfortunately, the news is not good. The lady @ DOC had a look at him, checked him over and said that he was probably in a lot of pain, as if he was feeling better he would be trying to attack and bite anyone that came near him. She was able to put her finger right on his beak and said that she shouldn't be able to do that. She said his leg was completely broken in half and the break was quite high up the leg. In her opinion she thought it would be best if he was euthanised. She did give me the option of taking him back to see if we could get him better ourselves and said if we opted to do that, that we would have to handfeed him mince with cat fur on it. She didn't think there was much chance of a successful recovery and in the end I decided to leave the little fella with her and she would euthanise him.
  18. Last night hubby went out and caught a spider and stuck it in the box... not sure if the owl ate it though. Its possible it ran away. We gave him some water in a little shallow dish as per DOC's instructions. And he is still alive this morning, hubby says he's looking very alert and made some clicking noises when he lifted the lid of the box to check on him.
  19. Text. I don't have a webcam. Why must I troll?
  20. I am Omegle-ling! For the first time ever. talking to some korean chick about going to university.. :-?
  21. One leg/foot just seems to be dangling there, the other appears to be alright, but hubby hasn't seen him grip with either foot. He's just lying down, appears to be sleeping now that he's in the box. This morning when he was found he was tangled up in a truck aerial behind the visor. He doesn't think that he has been hit by the truck but perhaps just landed on the truck and slipped down and got himself stuck and in the process of trying to free himself has broken his leg/foot. When he was found my husband him, he managed to get the bird unstuck but then the bird flew away and landed near a fence. He remained there the entire day and when my husband went back to see if he was still there, he was. He was crouching at that time, my husband picked him up then the bird tried to fly away. We rang the emergency DOC number, they advised to keep him in a warm, dark place for the night and drop him off to the DOC office in the morning. Fingers crossed he survives the night! Tried to get hubby to take a pic but he's not too keen to disturb him too much.
  22. Its like 7pm is anyone gonna be in the Doc office? I don't even know where the local Doc office is..
