  1. Its absolute madness. The roof of Stadium Southland has collapsed under the weight of the snow along with the roof of Windsor New World. Its highly likely our company will be asked to assess the damage on both buildings. It just keeps getting worse. We're already a man down and other staff members have leaving coming up. Not to mention earthquake claims coming out our ears. What next??? Its snowing in Otautau but not settling. We started heading towards Invercargill this morning, but turned back at Thornbury as the roads were quite heavily covered with snow.
  2. Yeah.. all these different names of the alleged "cleverbot" makes me think its not a bot. It told me it was called "Andrew the great, the second... and probable" Weird.
  3. I also swore at it and it said: I know... you.
  4. I was thinking it was something along those lines too..
  5. Hehehe I lol'd at that one too. This could keep me amused for hours. Cleverbot: How many children do you have? User: None. Cleverbot: I have 8. User: What are their names? Cleverbot: Tom, John, Jack, Jill, James, Jojo, Hallery, Matt, Tom the second. User: Rofl. Cleverbot: Who are you? User: Yo' mama. Cleverbot: Yo' daddy. User: Mamabot. Cleverbot: Lol. User: Tee hee. Cleverbot: You're good. User: I know. Cleverbot: So, tell me a secret. User: I see dead people. Cleverbot: What do they look like? User: Kinda dead... Cleverbot: I guess. User: Yeah.. Cleverbot: Well.

  7. Didn't really have a lot of say in the matter. It is for work purposes.. I'm helping out our Christchurch office at the moment on the ordinary everyday stuff, then going to be helping out with earthquake claims tomorrow, until Tuesday at least.. its chaos at the moment, many many stressed people about
  8. Thats very generous and kind of you Barrie. I've only been in the city for 24 hours, but the devastation I've seen in that time is just unreal.. I don't blame people for wanting to get out. And the stories I'm hearing. Kaiapoi New World has to be torn down.. so many jobs lost. My taxi driver was telling me that people have just had enough and were escaping. Some of the people I dealt with yesterday in my line of work had just up and left the city, some had gone as far as Australia. There's that sense of... paranoia almost, they think another one is just around the corner.. everyones on edge.
  9. Well I arrived in the city at 9am this morning and that one was the first one I've felt. Was sitting having dinner in an Irish pub near the Square...
  10. Zebra loaches are pretty peaceful, I wouldn't think it would be them. I have mine in with glowlight tetras and no problems. I'd be inclined to blame the angels too. Or perhaps the fish are dying (as neons tend to do very easily) and the rest of the fish are eating them before you notice.
  11. So horrible to read about all the fishy deaths, I can't imagine how helpless some of you must feel. It sounds like I'm possibly going to be dispatched to our Christchurch office to help out there, will know by the end of today whether I'm going or not.
  12. Not the Chch one, I was just recounting my last big EQ experience from July last year. Whilst bigger on the Richter scale at 7.8 and slightly shallower than the Chch one, the epicentre was way off the coast of Fiordland so wasn't as intense as the Chch one. Still, it had me panicking and I just went with the urge to protect the tank in the best way I could think of at the time.
  13. Cute! She does look like she's enjoying herself. She's got her tail wagging.
  14. Not so much proof of what you paid for it but more proof that you actually owned it. Manuals if you kept them are sometimes considered enough for proof of purchase. Also if it is a brand new item purchased from the likes from Noel Leeming they can pull up records and print of recipts for you. And like Ryan said, if you still have the broken item that should be proof enough that you owned it. If you have house and contents insured with a company, the EQC should cover most personal property, apart from things such as motor vehicles or pieces of art.
  15. I best stop txting my workmate who's currently in Hanmer Springs...
  16. its pretty crazy aye. I saw pictures of buildings half fallen down, looks like a bomb hit! Last big eq we had in Otautau I actually held on to my tank lol.. probably wasn't the smartest thing but it was just an impulse. I really did think the tank was gonna fall over, water was certainly slopping out of it. Just watching the coverage on TV, some girls microwave ended up in her fish tank. Our chch office is gonna be screaming for help on Monday no doubt.
  17. Or you could try Vodafone's forum. http://forum.vodafone.co.nz/
  18. It would more than likely be looking like a pine cone if it had dropsy, which it may. Omaria hasn't said yet. If it was fish TB it would probably be thin, not fat.
  19. I think what Brackishtank lover is trying to ask is, Is the spine bent?
  20. Yeah I thought it was regarding multiple tanks too.. in fact what is MTS when referring to snails?
  21. Yes used it. No wouldn't recommend it. I think (not 100% sure but can't think of any other reason) that it caused an outbreak of cyanobacteria in my tank. Never had a problem with cyano until after I started using that thing.
