  1. Thanks Donna. When you say shed the wrinkled up scutes, did the shell recover fully and is flat again? or still raised? That big bumpy one i posted above looks like it needs the grinder and sand paper . for memory the shell was soft when i got that one too. its hard now and must be shedding from time to time.
  2. they almost look like theyre not shedding properly. cant figure out why the top two would be though and not the rest. unless it simply comes down to the first few years of care or lack of. and maybe just slight colour variants to go with. 1st chunky one i posted above, looked just like that at 5years old, came out of a 3foot tank with smaller one. now around 10, has grown while ive had it but not alot and the shell looks much the same.
  3. pass, just wondered if they were a different species or simply deformed. this one is almost half way between both of them :-? . but looks more like the chunky version to me..
  4. I just do it with photobucket, along with the borders  Here's the only pic i got of her with neck out. Pic maybe a little deceiving smaller one that came with the big chunky one above.
  5. cool so there's hope yet. the male stayed near the rock for a couple of days after the eggs were gone
  6. remaining eggs got eaten soon after pics were taken, maybe next time eh
  7. so im not the only one who missed the dead frog in 1st pic above?
  8. and if melworms are dehydrated they are more likely to bite/attempt to eat anything with moisture (including lizards, frogs etc), probably matters bugger all but food for thought eh think ive seen the forum/thread you mention Morcs. could of just been a dead lizard whom ate mealworms for lunch
  9. lol shave it off man, you'l never have to worry again
  10. is surprising what a little guppy can eat. spin the yoyo else where
  11. all Phoenix thinks about, me me me, shrimp shrimp shrimp   nice pics, redfins everywhere eh... thats the river i got my uplands. i was further up 4x4 style in the bush's, looking dodgy as ever 8) plenty of shrimp near the coast out Ohau way.
  12. :dunno: first ive heard, anythings possible i suppose. i always try to use hardwood in tanks. bns struggle to eat native hardwoods. im pretty sure ive still got some of the bits of driftwood here in troughs, still in tact a couple of years on. did the same for whiptails, only drilled right through the wood so they had open ended caves.
  13. drill a hole on a slight downward angle in some driftwood. worked a treat for bns, gbas, abns and so on
  14. :happy2: The three upland bullies ive got have been hiding alot over the last week (about how long ive had them lol), so decided to take out some rocks this morning. Sure enough eggs under one along with a not so happy to see me, mr uncle bully :happy2: Hopefully i didnt disturb them too much by moving the rocks aound.
  15. mines in the coolest room, has been upto 25C, generally sits around 20C though. frozen bottles drop temps quick in the small tank if need be, im trying not to bother though
  16. been a loong time coming. such stunning fish and NOT to big so actually a market here for them . great to see them here again. congrats to those who got some. price should go up imo
  17. ive got a similar size tank with 3upland bullies, took the little koura out so fish can feel more secure and that tank alone is probably too small for koura, especially when bigger. added 3 shrimp instead ,so far all good just need to keep an eye on temps, it can go up quick with small tanks, and keep water clean as possible. im wondering if my bullies may outgrow that tank actually. may just end up a shrimp tank.
  18. the cost of live food restricts the whole reptile trade something cronic in this country. such a shame, maybe it will change in the future but who knows.
  19. mealworms are probably up there with porkchops. :dead%fish atleast your honest about the crap diet morcs
  20. looking good man. is that a different one to the one i gave you? or has it regrown its leg/pedipalp?
