  1. frogs/offspring (splits) i sold from an albino female and green male last year arnt producing any albinos for one breeder apparently :-? I cant work it out, when I bred the off spring back to albino i got a small % albino each time which hints the genes are straight forward to me. anyone else bred them yet and care to share?
  2. It may work well to even out aggression just having all those shells, but i no nothing  Anyway nice tank.
  3. yes. get a basking light. good diet, calcium and sun if possible, but reptile tube should suffice
  4. nice photos . i really want to visit there some day.
  5. basking light may encourage them out of the water to bask. sun sure does in ponds.
  6. na waste of time i think. i never use to cycle turtle tanks, but after keeping fish it just makes sense to me. once cycled the tank shouldnt get murky (get algae blooms etc) and no smell or atleast very minimal, i dont notice my tank smelling.
  7. need biological filtration with turtles and or any tank if you ask me, it keeps things stable and the water crystal clear. a good filter and small water changes as required is MUCH better than doing 100%water change weekly, even daily imo.
  8. it goes a long way in this world guppies are livebearers (live young, no egg). if the fry have a place to hide and the adult fish are well fed, most fry survive. if want 100% separate fry to a new tank early on/asap. may want to try the search up top of this forum, some good info to be found.
  9. Not that I can think of. You just need to make sure the plant and frog requirements are similar but you can also adjust the setup to some extent (misters, substrate, lighting), so yes there is many options one no no i can think of would be not posting photos at some stage
  10. yes the time frame would be very interesting indeed. i wonder what would happen if you bred an egg laying one, to one that is giving birth to live.
  11. Pretty sure its an upland. No obvious blue anyway. Yellow stripe when in breeding colours. Could be slim as pic may of been taken just after theyd spawned. Now theyre going down hill with whitespot
  12. the frogs will probably get eaten, so not really
  13. cheers man. getting there slowly i suppose. I read a page or two out of the manual the other day , found out what a couple of the buttons do, so thats progress
  14. I have heard them make a noise freakishly similar to that of a duck in the past Was actually a female frog, yes female frogs can be vocal too, they grunt alot.
  15. eating mini mealworms http://www.youtube.com/user/nzexotics
