  1. feed at night thats when cats are most active. good time to watch them to just take a torch i use jbl novo pleco tablets for my bn's, whiptails, cories even the medusas seem to eat it not sure why that brand but seems to get good results also bloodworms at night for my cats not sure about royal plecs as never had them but presume theyre similar to the rest
  2. lol where there's one theres ...... theyre so fast those amercans, im trying a couple of other species to see how they run 8)
  3. cool suppose i should go see them. cockys breeding but abit weary with them as more prone to escapes so just letting them breed for now. will start feeding out once i get some fluon/bug barrier
  4. Can do any size crix from 2-3mm upto 20mm (young adult neally ready to breed) selling some excess on tm atm and would prefer sales to go through there for now mcm-3 I herd there was someone up north starting to supply the petshops but havent herd anymore? Im in buisness - like you said prices are expensive making it especially hard to justify when some reptiles can go through hundreds a week , on the other hand to produce thousands can be alot of work and easier said than done. My goal is to make them affordable and available to all but yea good things take time..
  5. Anyone with locusts to spare please send me a pm. wanting 20++ (pref young adults and or mix) will pay what ever within reason or swap 100+ crickets cherry
  6. yep abit hard to see in the pic but was some loose skin around its mouth and front leg. ive seen them using the front legs to sorta wipe the skin off to but i think i disturbed it with camera in its face lol also i think they eat the skin as very rarely see one in the water....call me mad but i could watch them for hours
  7. typical fish keeper lugging home a rock  that hole would make a good cave for catfish to breed in
  8. pathetic if they can be sold imo that person on tm is obviously a novice as has a wanted add for leopard fish which is againt tm rules i thought, a simple note to tm should have that auction pulld, but its the natives that need protecting
  9. fair enough, you can always get more than 1 bath but i must say when you get a dozen odd baths lined up on ya back lawn it doesnt look to flash
  10. maybe worth starting some wingless fruitfly cultures they are so prolific im ending up with excess that goes into the freezer atm, im gonna try as fish food later, but yea theyd be perfect for whistlers.. just caught another frog shedding - abit hard to see loose skin but anyway still see the motion it goes through
  11. not alot tbh i just chuck crickets in every other day along with moths and flies i catch when feal like giving something differant, oh and also let some slaters go on the driftwood so probably a few still lerking if they havent drownd also meat on a kebab scuer (sp) but they not too keen on tht atm and mealworms they love but as tanks got water in atm havent been feeding those, it really surprises me how little they eat but that could be cos tanks been unheatered for couple of weeks with only basking light for heat, now got heater in there and spray bar for rain cycle which they love, caught one shedding the other day which was cool to see. Rozski - himatangi hmmm lol i used to know of some around levin but went for a hike yesterday only to find ponds almost dried up dammit id love to setup nice display tank with whistlers again
  12. very nice man, would love to see it eating some livefood xmas = good excuse for new additions
  13. stock troughs are generally pricey especially the plastic jobs i found baths good and can get off tm for $1-20 but they can heat up if in full sun maybe not so bad if dug into ground.
  14. i was gonna ask the same thing a couple weeks back, always interesting to know whats been used and available here  ive only had one mercury vapour bulb and it was awesome..........for a few hours then she burnt out  not cool @ $50+each. There are a couple of brands overseas that are suppose to be more reliable but untill someone starts bringing them in and at an affordable price ill stick to fluros i use the sylvania reptistar from electrical shop which spoon mentioned above for memory theyre 20-30 each but prices vary. I think theyre 5/6% uv output but not sure i also take dragons outside for abit of sun when the weathers good. also read of people using gro-lux (ppl use them for tomatoes  ) tubes but not sure how effective they would be for reptiles in all honesty
  15. tanks rough as just put them (from a 4foot tank) in here couple weeks back untill i decide where/what to setup as there permanent residence, seem happy and dam theyre fattening up somthing cronic
  16. Awesome frogs, im trying to track down some whistlers if anyone knows of any.. couple of pics i took the other day; (on my 5yr old crud camera
  17. just feed em up theyl lay in water if they have to, but once they start getting restless during the day instead of basking etc make sure they have access to lay area. or take out in the garden and put on some soft soil. kp close eye though as laying can take time makin it easy to 4get and opps off walks turtle
  18. nice dogs Dixon, your fem looks alot like my fem boxer and shes nuts/hypo to the max i call her a.d.d. I can take my other dogs and her for a mean walk/run/swim then get home and she still wants to play fetch. and her eyes are soo focusd like this haha
  19. thats abit broad as dif plants have dif requirements ive had plants do the same when trying to grow them now i do nothing but feed fish and waterchanges and all plants seem happy as. cabomba i dont even plant - just floats in tank lookin pretty lol i use 6500k fluro btw
  20. so is photoshop what most use to edit photos/vids etc? i just want to edit some photos, put frames, add music to vids and or cut out my comentry etc lol
  21. long may the sun keep shining and ill be as happy as a sandboy
  22. those pond liners are all good for fish ponds ive even used them for turtles in the past, use weed mat pins above waters edge and or stones ontop looks ok, if you keep pond squarish the pond liner takes shape better as if too many bends means more creases etc warehouse sell them for memory, not indistructable but for what it costs theyre all good imo
  23. yea i agree in some cases finance is all good and without it options would be pretty minimal at times but.. if you put xmas on tick this year interest free what happens next year? especially luxury items id rather pay up front as you just never know whats around the corner and your gonna have to pay it off sooner or later.
  24. or maybe just plain sensible  Im lucky as have no dependants and to me its just another day, the fun went out of xmas when i caught santa (mum) putting pressies under the tree when i was about 5 yrs old, in saying that its still the best time of the year - good food good partys good weather, shes a corker as my grandad would of said :bounce:
