  2. guru alert thats amazing smeauwa & very inspiring thanks for sharing
  3. Was admiring some frogs in a pond this morning and theyre green bell frogs (the warty type by the looks) but im sure some had red eyes, is that common or am i just seeing things? Anyone know a good way to catch a couple of frogs, counted about 10 of the beauties but ponds over meter deep full of weed an algae so dont like my chances of catching them.... frogs are croaking but I havent seen tadpoles just yet but havent really lookd tht hard either, also goldfish in pond maybe feeding of frog eggs? tia
  4. very nice pics, must get out of my cave someday and make a trip
  5. load photos to website like www.photobucket.com click on the IMG code below pics, which copies the code for you, then paste (press Ctrl and V) the code into your post here. click preview to see if it works and your good to go reptilenutt - nice one is that glass or perspex?
  6. couldnt agree more, after working in a nursery in the past and doing the spaying job i cant stand chemicals some ppl even beleave organic sprays are safe to be around - imo its hardly natural to be around high concentrations of the stuf let alone breath it in or eat something covered in its residue, if it kill bugs you have to ask yourself what it does to ones self especially over time :-?
  7. slaters atm - havent fed alot of roaches just yet but did find a huge amercan cockroach lerking today and that was relished in a flash mealies and waxworms also seem a fave but should only be fed as a treat in my not so expert opinion nasturtian leaves and flowers - dandilion flowers - mustard flowers apparintly squash is better for them as apposed to pumpkin?
  8. ditto, im tempted to try 1 of these http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =189461061 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =189769789 to pump through a filter but not sure if it would do much good as they only work for so long each day/night, any thoughts would be appreciated
  9. me grate at spellar an gramming
  10. nz post use courier post, confusing if you ask me as i beleave its the same ppl/organisation that own them both but just listed as different companies, then to top it off the post offices and courier post depots around the country seem to have/think they have differant policies  nz couriers differant all together and have told me they wont pickup live things but will accept them if i take into there depot  if it wasnt alive i wunder if the service would still be so daft
  11. lol just started feeding mine crickets the other day (took off back legs first) and yea they seem to love them otherwise ox heart guppies minnows etc
  12. Dont see why not but whiteworms are pretty small so cant see them been of much benefit? small roaches, locusts & crickets are good staple insects also earthworms, slaters, waxworms/moths & mealworms (more treats imo) try encourage the greens to, put bits on end of kebab stick or drop into bowl infront of them the movement seems to help encourage them, even add livefood to the salad sometimes gets them interested all above in proportion to the space between the eyes, hth
  13. can never be too carefull, you could always go in passenger seat with him? if was me i would definately go with and if its your pride an joy you may not want him driving at all (especially if insurance doesnt cover other drivers, can always tell him that so he doesnt take it personally) and if your not happy they will have to refund or fix problem regardless i dont think theres a law saying they must test drive the car but you could take him for drive to show him whats going on?
  14. im over xmas presents the whole present thing is just a big money spinner but there can be alot of good thing about xmas like it brings families together (some maybe the opposite lol) and in general most people i find to be in good spirits. just dont get why ppl have to keep up with the jones's and go broke in doing so and alot of kids out there dont really appreciate it :-? not all but hmm when ya get what ya given you appreciate it alot more than when you get what you expect year in year out. Il be happy if its a sunny day
  15. levels not a freind of mine lol if i dont flood something im having a good day, atlleast tanks on concrete floor now though i suppose, good way to do extra water changes i tell myself

  17. seems its all about $ what a surprise  no more classifieds for reptiles, auctions only fokes which is the complete opposite to the old policy (some may not know this as wasnt always inforced), yet you can only run classifieds not auctions for dogs or even a guinea pig as an example but reptiles a differant storey what an absolute joke. im off to take a breath have a beer and try get over it, seems tm have double standards and the welfare of animals is now out the door, sad day
  18. always have been accepted as houshold pets imo and its actually reptiles and turtles which is silly imo as turtles are reptiles  a reptile and amphibian section would have made more sence

  21. the person who got me into turtles a few moons ago always had house plants around there indoor turtle pond thing and they grew like mad, turtle water may off had something to do with tht aswell though. i just use cheap 6500k fluro from hardware stores like bunnings etc for fish tanks and plants and have reasonably good results..
