    guppies been outdoors here for about 3-4weeks and noticed a couple of fry out there (water temp 17 on cold day/night upto 26during day this was about 2weeks ago havent checked temp as of late) only advantage to heating is you can put outside earlier and leave out longer

    nice one pagona - how do you find temp stability in those incubators without fan? mine seemd to vary alot - possibly as the daytime temp rises so does incubator but recently put fan back in my unit and done what you have with eggs and temps seem more steady? i suppose havn incubator in temp controled enviroment would help congrats on the eggs A.PROPHECY incubate slightly on cooler side to get males?

    have half a doz beardies i was going to grow on to get a couple of either sex but if i could sex them then id only keep 2 saving me a heap of livefood in the process. may just sell the lot - anyone want a beardie in horowhenua/manawatu for $400 send me a pm (theyre 6 weeks old today and around 6inch)

    Anyone got experience with probing beardies? (sounds abit dodgy i know) Cant be that hard but ive heard of people causing damage... still it cant be that hard to do without causing harm? Would be great to beable to sex them at a young age for obvious reasons. Freight - How have people recieved and or sent them in the past? I've heard of some sent in courier bags and cant say thats sounds very safe to me any thoughts any advice appreciated Cheers Matt

    Ive used the spotlight stuff (big bag think its for stuffing pillows) goes along way but isnt in sheets like you get from pet shops but workd all good for me - cheap to for memory

    point of thread was to identify the spider so thankyou im pretty sure you hit the nail on the head. Done a little bit of reading/googling and maf claim no black widows in nz :roll: Other sites say black widow is just another name for katipo and or redbacks so i dunno they all look similar to me

    wow those pics put mine to shame lol looks very much like that pic Andrew W posted couldnt find anything on google last night like it and all the false katipo didnt appear to have the stripe like this we beauty

    Excuse quality of pics, Small spider, complete red body and adomen with dark legs and black fangs 4 white dots on back with a couple of horizontal lines then a nice whitish stripe down the back of abdomen

    so does the bearded dragon book ive got beside me - great book indeed.

    someone on trademe was selling them (or something similar) last year for 20-30 but no longer stock them and i was told some other nz website had them (cant find email until i get my computer back ) his bearded dragon manual was about the same price and is a great book, plant books often are expensive not sure why!

    those snakes are common in nz just have to look in the rite places :lol: send me a camelion or 3 and ill send you a handfull of those snakes 8)

    definately want some ventilation - best to have hot and cool end for beardies and without ventilation thats hard to acheive very nice tank

    misd this some how - very nicely done Rozski my geuss tadpoles take (once have back legs) 2-4weeks to morph but thats just a geuss as its been awhile since i had tadpoles

    theyre in me backyard just roaming theyre only small about 3foot atm - free overnight courier if you want just keep it a secret :lol:

    could ask you the same thing. how about abit more info snakekid instead of just 1 liners? like when where who. how much and did you actually see them or just an add othawise its like saying ive honestly seen crocodilians for sale........................shame its was in america :lol:
