  1. if fed well and water kept fresh u shouldnt have any trouble as theyre pretty hardy whistlers may not like the heat as much but otherwise should be sweet
  2. look like these? http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/tubife ... 33477.html there was a more recent threead on these but cant find it..
  3. ExotherMan - that all makes perfect sence cheers for that im probably the only one who didnt understand what you wrote earlier
  4. they dont sleep on carpet in the wild because theyre in the wild, just like they dont sleep in a tank in the wild  cucumber in the wild ..... maybe your right though artificial grass (reptile carpet not houshold carpet) will stink but like anything you have to clean it sand is good but needs regular cleaning to and theres always that small risk of them eating it. alot of overseas ppl seem to use aspen shavings which look nice but cant say ive tried it.
  5. dam i love how that turtle can walk vertical
  6. well thats it for me im inspired.. tomorrow a new/upgrade tank begins any tips on the rain chamber - misters or spinklers and or does it need to be high pressure?
  7. yea man swt in hotwater cupboard, will only speed them up, on the other hand if u want to slow down ive heard of ppl storing mealworms in fridge BUT bringing them out once a week for upto a day just to rehydrate and feed them etc also put a couple of layers of hessian or old sacking or 1 layer of that and abit of carpet ontop, keeps warmth in as bugs moving makes heat (i just use 2 layer hessiano now) feed out sliced carot/apple/spud etc between the layers just makes it cleaner all round & best of all it makes it easier to harvesto the mealio
  8. ive seen exoterra misters on tm before and i have a random feeling hollywood fishfarm stock them but thats a long shot but maybe worth a try, theyre online.
  9. stick to ya job but dont stop the search, you just never know whats around the corner and no harm in looking abit like havin a gf you can always upgrade/move on if the choice comes your way haha
  10. look differant to any mite ive seen as they bounce/jump and appear 2mm long by about half a mm thick and white in colour. im noticing a few midges in there so maybe some sort of larvae to them but i dunno, seem harmless anyway
  11. heat packs are cheap forget the drinkbottle  heatpacks available at pharmicies i think otherwise put up a post someone should have some under $2 each 8)

  17. posibly, ive got some little white things in my cultures to, they bounce around like little fleas? i just take glass off culture and blow them into tank for fish but dunno how or why they there
  18. probem with compost is the worms feed of it therefore not so hungus for what u feed making them less easy to harvest. good thing about compost is if you neglect it they can live for months, I had some old polyboxes outside for neally a year and started feeding them agiain last week and sure enough they still in there for best results though imo something without any food in it to begin with is best but you have to kp ontop of the feeding in order to get them thriving like anything though you get back what ya put in
  19. welcome and yea wish i had a stream out back
  20. "grazing" sounds about rite haha just going n pics ive seen of barbatas they seem darker or more grey like the wds as appose to the vitticeps which seems more colourfull hard to explain i need to dig up some pics again, maybe i should call it a day
