  4. just found this very old post and thought i'll bring it back up as its such a good deal. i'll be giving them a call early next week to see if they still do it.
  5. just googled it and wasn't too far off Synodontis multipunctatus, guess i've been saying it wrong too  which Cichlid are they in with thats going to be their "victims" when they do spawn
  6. Syno Multipuntatus? [spelling] they look good are they from the recent lot?
  7. i am not really in to syno but those look really nice together.
  8. what is there to convert? if the water quality is right its all go i turned my old swimming pool in to a pond for couple of years before getting rid of it.
  9. yeah  what i was getting at is maybe have a guideline like 1watt per litre so even if they dont get ur recommended size tank they can still understand which heater to go for. just personal preference i guess
  10. that is how ur supposed to breed DTs. breeding DT with a single tail carrying DT gene because breeding 2 DTs together will get mostly deformity although i had success in the past with one of my lines breeding DTs together. when breeding a DTM with a single tail female carrying the DT gene u will get about 50/50
  11. sounds mean but goldfish breeders are used to kulling fish, i sometimes kull thousands in one season alone . sounds like a lot of fish but keeping in mind a female lays 500-1000 eggs in one spawning and spawns up to 4 times per season.
  12. well sounds like u've made ur mind up and good for u for wanting to give it a go. have u ever breed goldfish? u do realize it would take around 10 years before a some what stabled line if u manage it. and before u start, contact some breeders for the look out of egg fish with telescope eyes as u get them just by breeding celestials but are kulled as nymphs cuz they're "undesirable". so if u can get hold of some of those it may cut down a couple of years of breeding. with over 300 varieties of goldfish developed only 20 odd are popular enough for comical sale so u will need to do this purely for urself so ur not disappointed when ur strain is not recognised.
  13. the heating part seems complicated to understand, this is my attempt at it maybe u can merge with ur existing one somehow at least 1 watt per litre, either with a single heater or a combinations of heaters adding to at least 1 watt per litre. if ur using two heaters have one set at a degrees lower than the other to prevent both heaters heating at the same time which could overcompensate resulting in a constant rise and fall in temperature.
  14. why would u want to do that? short answer is dont waste ur time cuz ur most likely to get 100% nymphs. although the same species these two varieties are completely different.
  15. WOW thats some accomplishment
  16. never seen then in person but what little beauties, does ur one looks the same as the photo? [large spots]
  17. they're one of my favorite fish, best schooling fish IMO. http://www.aquariacentral.com/articles/wcloud.shtml http://www.fishpondinfo.com/wcmm.htm
  18. unscrew the sides and u'll see the starters, its the side further away from the switches. hope that makes sense
  19. thats for a proper pressure co2 system, there is always the $5 home made option more trouble than its worth but some ppl put up with the hassle.
  20. lighting is important, as long u have good lighting most plants will do well.
  21. only ever used pond liner myself, there is two different grade [thickness] form memory its $20 per sq meter for the cheapest grade. its easy and flexible enough so i could do it my self which is the reason i choose it. if u go concrete its best to seal with pond paint which is not the cheapest stuff. i am not sure if caryl did though
