what is the tank like that she is staying in? i am guessing pretty bare?sounds like she is insecure and just trying to hide.

not sure if its all in my head but after knowing that this tank is made from diamante glass i've noticed a green tinge to all my tanks comparing to urs. :-? :evil:

if u can get the strain to breed more like the one on the right, as in more red on the back and head than u can call it a "red blond albino". they look great by the way. the red sword looks even better in life.

yeah some can handle more pressure than others which means more CO2 in smaller tank etc

if the tank is big enough and they both have place to retreat to then they will settle down one they have established dominicy, most ppl separate them if it gets too ruff but i like to just let them fight it out

assuming they had a good diet and living condition u can tell their sex at around 4-6 month depending on their gene which will also determine the size they grow to .......etc.

shop around ur LFS, most of them would be able to get u one.

seems pointless having a complete water change when the water is crystal clear. i keep fish with them which helps clean up after them and a good canister filter is a must, i would suggest just getting the biggest one u can afford.

one of my turtle tank has that exact spec, 5 X 2 X 2 foot. it has a 40 X 50cm sand pit so the water part is only actually 1125 X 500 X600mm. i run CF1200 and only clean it once ever 4-6months with a 10% water change and top up every week. tank cost $300 but thats Auckland prices so expect to pay around $500

dwarf hairgrass = Eleocharis parvula normal = Eleocharis acicularis nope, yet to find any and always on the look out. must be goin into the 3rd year since i been looking and i buy from anyone that thinks they got it but never is. they were differently around so still a chance its out there.

Asian aros are only breed for sale in captivity for over 20 years. there must be hundreds of aro breeding farms in Asia. its possible and very common

no one breeds aros in NZ so they would have to be imported. haven't seen them in a while sorry. they grow up just looking like silvers anyway just with slightly darker silver if at all.

nope strictly tropical, it will be alright in the summer but if u get a sudden cold night it will die.
