  1. Sorry should have explained more clearlyt, I was refering to the size of the spots, I like how the yound ones have larger spots
  2. Some nice looking kids there Blue, Its a shame they dont keep the bold colouration later in life.
  3. Setup the CO2 after delaying it for sooooo long only to oafishly break the stem on my CO2 diffusser, and cut myself in the process. The mikyness in the water is pretty much gone but it does have a light green tint to it. I will do a water change or two over the next week or so and see what happens.

    Otto's

I got three from Brian at the goldfish bowl, they were the only three he had. Cost 13$ each
  5. Thanks TM, the sub is from Hollywoods, its a coffe coloured grit.
  6. I will actually be able to make this one. Good stuff.
  7. The cloudyness in the water is getting to me a little, i am not sure whats causing it but I have heard that sometimes UV can cause it. Will run some tests and do a water change and see how it goes.
  8. My water is a little cloudy, i think i can sense a green water issue trying to start but thanks to the UV it hasnt happened yet. This is a pic as of tonight Have added some foreground plants to the right hand front corner Got some ottos and some neon tetra's for the kids to look at
  9. Your tanks looking great penguinleo. Good stuff.
  10. Thanks David. The light units not a Tek, Its an Aquamedic. 4x4' t5s Im not too sure if the light is going to be enough to make an awesome carpet but only time will tell. The water is still a little cloudy (not too much though) so once that cleras up i'll start getting some real plants and i might get some fish later this week. Does any one have a suggestion on what to use as a water holding solution for My RO water and where to get it??
  11. Yeah alan i think your right about the tall hair grass. If i can't find the dwarf stuff but googling some pics it seems that E. tenellus can form a decent looking carpet.
  12. Tenellus is the grass type plant that propagates using runners right??? A while ago i tried what i think was a tenellus species and it didnt form a very thick growth.
  13. The guy does list java fern as one of his plants so as you say alan it probably is. I'm pretty sure i've heard dwarf hairgrass mentioned is it common???
