Well you are all right. I found her in the sump overflow. I am sure I looked their this morning and she wasnt there. I am either losing my eyesight or the eel is playing mind games with me. Cheers

Hi, I went out this morning and my eel has completely disappeared. I checked everywhere and nothing. I have glass covering the top so it couldnt have got out that way. It could have gone over the edge into my sump area but I also checked there and nothing. I even thought it might have made it through the pipes into the lower sump and did a runner from there but there seems to be nothing in the room as I checked under all the furniture. I am completly baffled as to where it could have got to. Normally when I turn the lights on in the morning it is out of its log waiting to be fed Can anybody offer any insight as to where it might have got to - it is about 30-40cm long so it couldnt have been eaten

Hi, According to the manufactors specs it can pump 5500lph at a height of 1.5m. I will have to add on another inlet pipe to reduce the outflow into another direction

Update: HELP I have purchased an Atman 6500 pump which I have set up over the weekend and am unsure but feel that it is too powerful for the tank, if this is possible. I had to use 25mm hose to fit the outlet pipe into the top part of the sump and 18mm for the inlet pipe from the pump to the top of the tank. It seems to be working to well if there is such a thing. There is a huge amount of water pressure coming out of the inlet pipe into the tank. The pump is putting out more water then my garden hose can on full. Should I go to a smaller pump???

How fast do they grow. I would like to think I wouldnt need updating my tank as the 2 I am after are only under 1 foot long. How long could I safely have them in the 8 footer???

Hi all, I have been searching in the Local fish shops as well as on trade me and are uncertain what type of pump would service my new 2400x.49x.49. I can purchase a **Water Pump, King 4F which will pump 4800 L/Hr max head height is 4.5M which is selling for $169. Or I can purchase a Atman MP5500 Pump which will pump 5710 L/H, head height 3M. Cost $189. Are either of these pumps suitable and if so which one. I only want to set this up once so it would be very much appreciated for all the knowledge out there to help solve my delema. Hi all, I have aquired a prime 20 but the 4 latches holding the top and bottom parts together are missing. Is there anybody out there that could give me some advise on a suitable solution. It used to run really well until the parts went missing. All help is much appreciated Paul

Cheers for all the advice. I was aware that putting them in a community tank was probablly not a good idea but I didnt want them getting eaten. I thought maybe as young they would be okay. I had not thought about adding an extra container to the tank, So thank-you for that idea as I will go with that.

No! it has Discus etc in it. I would only keep them in there long enough for them to grow a few cms so they dont get eaten in my big malawai set-up
