  10. Thanks guys.. livingart, you may want to make it a midnight raid... my dog is often outside during the day but tuckered out inside at night  Just a tip  8) The stars and stripes gets to around 51cm in the wild but about half that in captivity... have seen bigger than 25cm in captivity tho, so guess all depends on the fish and feeding. They are wicked to keep, those nashers are deadly tho  It all depends on what species of puffer you want to keep tinytawnykitten... and how big your tank is, you would need a pretty large tank to house two stars n stripes, they can be territorial and snappy over food 8)
  11. Thanks Lynnie and definately as Johannes says, don't give you, you will have some in no time I am sure 8)

  20. Heya Check these two links out that I found ages ago.. as I asked myself the same question... One species is the T. fluviatilis - Large spaced spots. http://puffernet.tripod.com/fluviatilis.html And the other... T. nigroviridus... if you enlarge pic on that one, you will see the spots are more closely knitted together like your one. http://www.aquatic-hobbyist.com/profiles/brackish/gsp.html

DavidR... I haven't got any pics of him myself, however, could arrange getting one. This fish was in a large tank, very happy so it seemed until one day he just snapped, maybe he was going through a midlife crisis...

Jags can be aggressive even singularly... depends on the individual fish... guess it a case of trial and error...

Well there is one available down this way very good colour, male... I know the guy that owns it however it really lives up to it's name.... Has killed a Texas, Jack Dempsey, 2 Oscars... and a Plec... He was fine with these fish until oneday he decided to go on a killing spree when our friend was at work... He is now in permanent solitary confinement at East Side State Penitentiary... He has broken 2 heaters of late and swipes them off the side and rams them around tank... so heater covers a must.. Just be aware, this one snapped after being so content with his tank mates. We have bred them and our pair was pretty laid back, but we had another male, as spare, and he was down right rotten too.
  25. I wouldn't keep Blue Dempseys in with a gang like that... JMO.. I not sure I would have kept my normal lot in with a gang like that
