  1. I have heard the same thing.. however, I used to have a very large pair of normal dempsey who were pussycats... They certainly didn't live up to their usual rep.. 8)

  10. I remember hearing about a guy who had a oscar who did tricks, and apparently oscars are one of the most intelligent and easiest to train.... fish doing tricks who would have imagined such a thing :roll: :lol: :lol:
  11. I don't keep bristles in with africans, however, there are rather a few african keepers that do. Not sure if they wean the bristles into higher ph or how they go about it 8) Someone is bound to reply with their methods.

    :lol: :lol: That is the trouble with mouthbrooders... when they leave mums mouth they are large enough to take off and duck for cover so your net or syphon hose doesn't stand a chance :lol: It is alot easier with the likes of Dafs, and Leleupi etc.... We had a pair of Lionheads spawn in our old Malawi tank and I wanted to retrieve the babies.. so we dropped the water level and made a rock wall to keep the large fish out and it made it so much easier getting the youngster Lionheads.. I can only imagine what would have happened if the large Malawi weren't kept out :lol:

    I hope you still have some left... and I am sure Ryan is right, you should find some in there that have been crafty enough to keep themselves under cover... Unfortunately tho youngsters can often get picked off in the tank.... just a common thing with young being in such a confined area...

  17. There are some real expensive books out there that is for real, we are adding to our african books slowly but surely... have a neat Tanganyikan one I have my eye on, but its 200 smackers!! Hmmm not sure how I can justify that without ending up divorced hehehe

My Nyassae synos markings are beautiful, very clear and defined... clean cut, I have found the ones with the smaller spots doesn't look so nice.. personal preference me thinks Yeah the cuckoo bird pushes other birds eggs out of their nest and lays it's own in the nest to be raised by the other birds.
