  1. The royal blues we had coloured up to the full extent more or less straight away when they matured in colouration... the whole body colour was intense dark blue, right through out the body, no lighter coloured body with reddish shoulder.
  2. Awww glad the pair are still doing so well malawiman, thats fab, give them a smooch for moi
  3. I am thinking the one in picture is sub dom male. Just a hunch... the females we have had in past have had very flat heads compared to the one in pic. We only ever had the one female that had a slightly rounded hump.
  4. Have you asked him?
  5. Thats the exact colouration ours royal blues were livingart
  6. It will be great to keep these guys going callum, there used to be so many of them around, and then due to the fact that people found them too hard to part with as young, they then stopped breeding them, so they more or less fell off the face of the earth... glad to see you getting some going again, we have some lelelupi here too, I think they are a stunning little tangy... we need to make the most of what little amount of tangys we have in NZ huh. Good luck with her next time anway, keep us posted 8)
  7. Neolamprologus leleupi. Seems there isn't a hot enough male in the tank callum.. If only those eggs were fertilised, what a waste I hope she makes an effort to find a nice bloke next time 8)
  8. How big are they at this stage?
  9. Royal blues that we had were full blue body 8) Very nice pics Foxglove and fish in beaut condition Those Dems from you are gorjus Ryan

  12. Oh great stuff Let the fun begin 8) congrats!
  13.  I had the same issue with a T. duboisi female, spawning with herself and holding a brood of unfertilised eggs in her mouth..

    sunsun tanks

Aqua One as far as I am concerned and I am speaking from experience in owning 3 of their tanks in the past.. have been excellent... not what I would class as below average at all. I find most branded aquarium cabinets not exactly the flashest... I mean come on... they are made to suit a certain price bracket... The tank itself (Aqua One) have been excellent... never had a problem with the hoods... or the internal pump which runs the hooded trickle filter system... Yet with all tanks with the hooded trickle filter, even tho Aqua Ones is adequate, we have always also run a canister filter below, extra backup aswell. I don't think any hooded filter system should be taken for granted, you should always have a back up filtration. Sunsun I have heard are a bit "cheap" and pumps aren't that great.. however I can't comment as such as I have never ventured into buying one.
  15. Ottos need very clean water and good water flow, sorry to hear that you lost your little guy... They aren't hard to keep if keep up on good water changes and good filtration.
  16. Gee you guys are young!!! Skinny jeans were in times way before Emo even existed!!
  17. Well in that case Warren... then I take back what I said
  18. Now now boys... *tsk tsk* Nana Luke will probably be one of those men later on in life who doesn't have to flip his mop over to one side to hide baldness, and probably will still look 10 years younger than his actual age and still appeal to young women even when he's say 45 So Nana Luke looking so much younger now than his 18 years could actually be a good thing
  19. I am sure I have seen platy x mollies at a lfs at one stage, this was out of town and apparently a local breeder there had taken them in.
  20. Hey Mince, there is an African Aid type shop down here that sends clothes etc over to help African communities, it's a huge place and anything you buy there the majority of funds goes to Africa of which is fantastic! (my fav store around actually, I haunt the place)... Well he often has nice clean sheets of glass, and I am sure I spotted some 8-10mm glass in there the other day, along with other pieces... this lot was a nice size... and he said if interested in glass then make an offer, that's after I enquired about it. Just thought I would let you know, you can get some great stuff there.

    Blue Acara

They should be fine, what are the tank measurements, just to get an overall idea of space etc..
  22. Lovely looking fish livingart 8) The hansbaenchi we kept a while ago were very high bodies and compact fish... the peacocks pictured above are alot more longer and streamlined than my hansbaenchi. I would have described my lot as "cobby" bodied. But gee it's so hard with pics aye
  23. skaffen - Our stars and stripes is about 20 cm and hes only a youngster... it's amazing to watch him, he crunches through coral rock like its a biscuit   I have hand fed him one or two times but get the wind up a bit with those beak type nashers   He sulks, he demands food, he runs up and down the front of the tank when I am busy feeding out in the fish shed, and runs his mouth across the front of the glass, so all you see is this big flash of white beak teeth... I will take a pic later today when I get the digital camera back. He has grown since I got him, and can't wait till he looks like an oversized bath toy..
