We are now looking at heating our fish shed and getting rid of heaters... had a incident last week.. of which really took the cake... ended up with some over cooked fish... :evil: We have been looking at wanting to heat our fish shed for a while now... and getting rid of tank heaters.... and I thought I would ask around on the forums at peoples ideas on what heaters are the best to use... I have heard of people using oil heaters, fan heaters, heat pumps... Would love peoples thoughts and feedback on what they think or what they have found works best.... Thanks in advance

Good morning mumzy.. gotta love winter huh :roll: I am still thawing out with a cuppa tea... and soon to be marmite on toast... and then have washing to hang, beautiful clear blue skied day but can spot the snow on the ranges... Gee I am looking at my bearded dragon, only wishing that I could share a stretch out on his log under that heat lamp :lol:

Oh I am rapt they are doing good And so pleased they have gone to a great home... 3 of those boys I bred myself, so they are more so special, and just glad they have gone to someone who will really appreciate them as much as we did 8)

I hope the boys have settled in ok tinytawny, keep me posted on how they are doing 8)

Great shots Neon, aren't they fantastic My 3 are stunning and the colour and markings are out of this world, will put some shots up when I have a new digi cam.. or I could possibly get a good enough shot with cell phone, yet somehow I doubt that :roll: :lol:

Just be aware... eels can climb and slither out of rather high areas walls of enclosures ie sides of tanks, troughs etc and can end up dehydrated... they are amazing escape artists....

I saw the boy in the flesh today and photo does not do him justice at all, he is a stunner Full credit to ryan on raising his fry too, the newbies are looking fantastic 8)

Great idea Will do well for alot of people too I am sure... but yes might pass in regards to african species... safer taking the rocks out to retrieve fish, rather than having the fight club in small confines :lol:

We net our holding girls... make it quick, try to get her in a place that is most accessible, so you are not forever chasing her around the tank and stressing her out and the most important thing is patience, nothing worse than feeling tense on the end of the net because they can sense it big time... if a female isn't in a good spot to catch her at the time, then it is best to play the waiting game.

aquab, has her tummy started to shrivel since she has been holding a brood, how long has she been holding for?? Nice shots of your fish 8)

I have two females and a male 8) They are yound adults... a couple of paired off, so heres hoping to get these little guys going I can't yet put pics on as had that mishap with camera the other night by pushing in the darn port in camera... arrrrrrrrggggggghhhh :lol:
