Try setting up 2-3 sub-strains so that you can back cross then a few generations later. Maybe focus 1 strain on body size, 1 strain on tail shape etc??

I have a few virgins from blue's golden snakeskin line (No dark pigmentation) but very young. Need at least another mth or 2.

That happened to me last Tuesday, luckily I was doing water changes and noticed the problem as it was my day off.

Poor Loopy, about a month or so ago I lost a lot of fish due to a series of power serges (3 in 15 minutes) killing 6 heaters and a LOT of fish. Including all of my Albino guppies. So I know how heartbreaking it is. My heart goes out to you. I'm just starting to come back from my losses and have fish breeding again. (hugs) Keri Anne

The ones at $5 they most likely breed themselves. The ones they currently stock will be from the wholesalers. The wholesale price on guppies is surprisingly high for surprisingly low quality. The shop will be making surprisingly little on these fish, they know how guppies are generally perceived and will be cutting it as fine as they can. Cheers, KA

Temp does seem to effect gender try around 24-25 degrees.

Try removing the battery and putting it back in. If that doesn't work it may have moisture damage. Remove battery again and put by hotwater cylinder over night. If this fails replace unit.
