Feed them up on live foods, that would be a good way to get them in the mood. White/Blackworms are great and easy to cultivate.

Yea felt like it should have been in the high 5's here in Riccarton. We even lost power for about 40 minutes which hasn't happened since the February one. I hadn't refilled my tank properly so no water lost luckily.

Thanks, but I'm sorted for plants now, just got to wait on them to grow. Took a ton of photo's tonight and got one good one and one ok one. These are awesome tetra's, mini piranha!

I found blackworms in the gravel of my pond. I'd just scoop a bunch out with a jug and sort through the gravel and pull out the worms with tweezers.

Vermiculated's (Synodontis schoutedeni) are around but pretty rare

Hmm might try them out later on down the track. It's frustrating eh. Such a pretty plant when red, but I think it's gross when green.

I bought a cheapie off trademe a while ago. Takes a few times of plugging in and unplugging before it 'blows' instead of 'sucks' but it's good when it goes properly. I used to have it on a timer and most of the time it would turn on 'sucking' and I'd get fish trapped inside it and die.

Left one is 10,000k and right one 6,700k. I had a 10,000k in the right hand side and it broke, got a replacement and it broke too. So this will have to do. They don't really make much of a difference in colour of the plants, just the sand and wall behind it. Well, that's what I reckon anyways.
