  1. No predators so normal lighting should be OK. Don't feed fry until they are free swimming because they are feeding on the yolk sac when first hatched. They swim when they are looking for food. If you feed them before that it will not get eaten and will pollute the water.
  2. Welcome and enjoy your time here.
  3. microworm and brine shrimp nuplii.
  4. You would be big as well if you were full of that many arms and legs.
  5. meth blue is used to stop the spread of fungus on infertile eggs to those that are fertile. When fish look after the eggs they generally take care of that--so no meds. Feed once free swimming as that is when they have absorbed the yolk sac and start looking for food.
  6. Proudpaws have 2 shops--one is the best for reptiles.
  7. Plants die without carbon and they usually get it from CO2 unless you add it as an available liquid. If you don't add it as liquid or gas they will get it from the atmosphere. There is no advantage in just adding CO2 without other ferts and good light.
  8. Rotala because the leaves rotate around the stem and rotundifolia because the leaves are round (emersed)
  9. It is non toxic when dry because it is used on potable water supply piping.
  10. You need to make sure you are comparing apples with apples. Many times the cost is related to the glass thickness and there a people who will make a cheap tank but from thinner glass.
  11. You may be the god of ugly things but I bet my beardy would love you to bits (literally)
  12. You will have more time to get your hair right now?
  13. supaglues are various forms of cyanoacrylates. They are generally non toxic apart from breathing the fumes or glueing your lips together. Because the compound contains cyanide it does not mean it is cyanide. That is a bit like saying common salt is toxic because it is sodium metal and chlorine gas. Most flexable plastics don't glue well and supa glue works on sticking two items together that are in contact. It does not act as a filler/adhesive. I have used a hot glue gun with success on some plastics.
  14. During the quakes tanks and equipment were covered but not livestock.
  15. Welcome and enjoy your time here
  16. I can't help with the goldfish but if you add your location to you profile it will help others to.
  17. I want to see the pic where the dog walks around the corner and runs into mum and dad duck.
  18. I have had that happen with two hatching from the same clutch. The light one turned out pretty good as well so yours should also.
  19. They normally mask with tape then use a special tool to spread the fillet rather than a large finger. I am with you---I don't think the fillet does much structurally and if a tank is built well it will not leak without it, it just tidies up any excess glue and makes things easier to clean. More is not always good.
  20. I did it to heat a tank divided into 6 compartments to start with, but also used one on a tank for converting emersed plants to submersed, and they worked well till the quakes flooded the thermostats.
  21. I had a couple made and they worked well.
