See if you would be comfortable replacing the word with any other derogatory words as I have suggested. There is a four letter word of anglo saxon derivation pertaining to bodily excretion, and an old saying about owning your own rather than claiming that what I post is the responsibility of someone else.

My personal view is that the word is a derogatory word and is insulting just like the derogatory words some use to describe African Americans, Chinese, Italians, Arabs etc. It makes no difference to me that they may choose to use the word themselves--it is intended to be derogatory.

If it only sprays once or twice in 24 hours why do you need a machine to do it?

I wouldn't use them on myself, let alone a fish tank. Why would you want to live continuously in insecticide vapour?

If the water is acid it will increase the water hardness and will also increase the pH. I use river sand as it is not sharp like crushed sand or shell

If the water is acid it will dissolve iron into solution as the ferrous ion and various other changes to conditions may then convert the iron to the ferric state which is far less soluble and will drop out of solution leaving iron stains on everything like some people get on their bath or WC.

Oxygen is better

Offcuts are brand new glass but offcuts, and are usually a lot cheaper than "non offcuts". The problem is that the thicker the glass, the bigger the panes in use are so the bigger the offcuts. Thinner glass can be used for smaller windows so the offcuts are smaller. For this reason the prices can be close to the same. It depends a lot on how many tank builders are in line for the offcuts. If there are not many then it will cost them a pile of money to dump the offcuts. The price will also be a lot less if you buy all their offcuts and cut it yourself (and pay to get rid of the waste). There are a lot of variables but I would expect prices to be similar all over the country. The NZ dollar has gone up a lot of late so the price of glass would be up on what I was paying.

I would try to get large bags about the size of the chillie bin and half fill the bags with water and the rest with oxygen. You can then use heat packs if you want. If you use bags tie up the corners so they do not become a trap and jam up the fish so it can't use its gills. as said previously, do not feed for two days as the waste will pollute the water. You can get oxygen from grandad or a mate with a gas welder.
