  1. Our rainbows in the community tank are always showing to each other and i noticed 1 is now really plump I'm thinking maybe with eggs so i have made a wool "mop" for them and placed it near the front of the tank so i can keep and eye out to see if there is any eggs layed in it , my problem is i don't know what rainbow eggs look like :-? does any one here know ? Once i see eggs in there I'll remove the mop to another tank so they can hatch and replace it with a new mop but what colour and size are they ? Any help would be great Thanks
  2. tonight i have put a nice female in the tank nextdoor to his and he has gone crazy building a bubble nest as fast as he can, I tell you if every builder built this fasdt there would be no homeless in the world within a month !!!   will see how he has gone by tomorrow night , she's full of eggs so we might have some magic.

    Normal Krib?

Hi Cat yes 100% male and one of the best coloured up ones I've ever seen I'd say that boy would love a mate and yes , great pictures too
  5. This morning he's still doing his best to look after the eggs but he has moved them again and it looks like two have gone off.
  6. I have a few bristlenose's in my 200L tank and have put pots and tubes and all sorts in for them to breed in with no luck until tonight. BUT....they did not use any of it, they piles the eggs out in the open and sat on them to stop the other community fish eating them, it looked like they would lose the battle so i places a pot over the eggs with a gap for the bristle nose to get in and hopefully look after they eggs but why did they lay out in the open ?? In the 2nd pic the tubing is accesable from the other side and is oftern used by the bristlenose , maybe there is eggs in there too ?
  7. Got ours yesterday too, an AWESOME job Caryl, PLEASE carry on
  8. Hi We got him from Animates Wellington , just the right place at the right time and just could not stop myself
  9. Hey Jude As a rule its 1 male per tank but you can keep more than 1 female together , at the momment i have my two females together in my 2nd community tank and not only are they fine but just love hanging around together. You can keep females and the male together too, but have plenty of hiding places for the female because if he wants to mate and she doesn't he can get very aggressive towards her and could even kill her. I think they are neat fish too, ours nested and we watched them under the bubble nest release eggs, i took the female out when they finished and left the male looking after the nest but nothing hatched. i'm letting her rest in her old tank for a few weeks before trying again. Good luck with your Jude

  11. Well maybe a photo finish steve ...
  12. just thought I'd post a pic of MY one too :-)
  13. the top orange one from the picture even tho its fat looks like a male to me, the anal fin looks like a male godepodium ( bad speller) rather than the full anal fin of a female. and the 2nd one looks pregs but still a way to go i'm picking.
  14. Hi We have a couple of them in with angels and a female Ram and bristlenose , and they are fine. never seen them nip anything and no tatty fins in that tank at all, also no salt in there either. They love blood worm but have also seen them take flake now and again.
  15. happens , i was sold a pair of sailfin millies from a petshop only later to find the female was a platy, a nice platy but not what i wanted or paid for.
  16. Hi Casper If you have just got them they could still be stressed and therefore lost a lot of colour but i would have thought in a day or two it would have returned. I'd say keep and eye on them it it is a tetra as you think and you really like it/them them it does not really matter too much what type it is but i agree its always nice to know and frustrating to be sold a fish as one thing and it turns out something else
  17. Hi The body shape looks about right but the colour looks far too pale, it might just be the flash but i don't think so. It does look like a tetra but maybe some other type, lemon tetra or the like. Can't tell from that , sorry Here is one of my Black Neons you can see the colour is much darker.
  18. I have a guppy almost idential to yours and he's a real stunner and also one of the most active guppies i have , so i don't think therers a problem with yours
  19. Welcome Casper It does sound like a black neon are you able to post an picture ? hosting at www.photobucket.com works well
