Hi I need some help and advice on my blue ouramis. I have a pair of blue/operline gauramis, she is the fattest i have ever seen a gourami and he keeps going a amazing deep blue and chaseing her around the tank so i know he's interested. This is what i have done, there in a 10 gallon tank be themselves, plants for her to hide behind and a cave, i put in some foam and turned the pump/filter off as to not disturb any nest he built. its been 5-6 days now , he has built a sort of nest nothing to flash but i'm assumeing he built it because theres no other bubble making thing in there. But thatsit its come to a grinding halt and i don't want to leave the filter off much longer as i don't know how long they can go without the filter. I do keep adding , very slowly as to not disturb them, some fresh water . I've feed them up on bloodworm and a mix of flakes. What can i do ? what should i do ? leave them to themselves ? put the filter on ? leave it off? even put them back in the community tank ? I'm just not sure ? :-All help greatly appercated

Looks like my oversexed fish have done it again , !! Just noticed very small Danio fry in the breeding tank sticking to the walls , not sure how many but looks like quite a few. Now from what i've been told and read, they need green water for the first week or two( got plenty of that) and then onto very fine flake or baby livebreeder/egg layer food( which i also have already got. if this is not right or I'm missing something please fil me in :lol: Will post pic's as soon as there big enough to photograph

Hi Guys I got some pictures of the Krib babies tonight , i now know there is about 100 of them. There grow so quick they will be off to School ( pun intended) before i know it ... :lol: :lol:

Thanks Dawn they are just awesome , so small but so cute. its neat to watch the parents looking after them , but that said were trying to give them as much peace as possable so were not a treat. will keep you updated on progress.

Hi Critter Sounds like they are stresed what was the water like in both tanks? the same temp , ph , etc ? did you bag and float them? and is there anything in the new tank they could look at as a treat? , eg bigger more aggresive fish ? if all is ok them it could just take a day or two to settle down.

I've followed your advice Shae and moved the Guppies and devider, the Kribs now have the 25 gallon tank to themselves and I think there going to need it there must be 100+ fry, its just so cool !!

yes I'm 99% sure , it has gray sand in the tank but i can see it moving

YES its happened !! We noticed this morning what looked like a cloud of sand moving under the kribs and when we looked closely there were heaps of baby kribs ! Not sure how many or if there is still more in the cave but there up and free swimming. Looks awesome!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Alan, how small are the Krib fry . a Guppy fry would not be able to get through , are they much smaller than that ?
