Hi Maxy I'd do the full set of test , Ph ,ammonia etc but also a water change would not be a bad idea. not to big say 25%. Keep and eye on him but don't mixed medication , you have tried salt and thats good just give it time to work. Good luck I hope he's going to be ok

Hi Shiuh How do you prepare or buy the beef heart and how much do you feed at a time , i guess it changes with the number of guppies in the tank at the time . Do you rotate the food , ie beef in the moring and blood worm at night or a very little of each at each feed. Your results are very impressive and good on you for keeping noters and shareing the info

Hi First the bad news , i just noticed upstairs in one of my fry tanks that the carpet under it was wet , then i saw about 4 inches of water was missing from the tank , Pulled it apart and all the fish are fine but the wifes not to happy :roll: And the good news is i've managed to breed bosmani rainbows , well one anyway, i had some mops in the community tank and they were very coloured up so kept replacing the mops and putting them in a breeding trap, i thought i could see some eggs but was not sure , well tonight we have 1, little fry swimming around , i know its not much but my first susses using breeding mops so I'm pretty pleased , hopefully over the next few days more will come as the mops mature. :lol:

not wide or deep enough , and i'd say make sure at least 10mm glass all round and well braced , a flick of his tail could do some real damage.

yes i'd say he was fine its also a neat fish but his tank IS big enough , he's also got a few smaller mates in there to play with

that sounds like a good set of tests to me also , its all i test for. how far away is this place from you , i have trasported fish up to 7 hours with no problems double bagged in poly boxes and more than 3-4 days with the help of a temp tank i set up in the motel room , so i don't see why you can't get some fish if you want to.

Sorry could not resist adding just one more, you can see a couple of eggs in this one just about to be saved and spat back into the nest by the female, both have been doing that all day

catch as many mozzies as you can, put then in a contanier and bring them over for my fish they would love them

Hi As a rule goldfish are cold water and tropicals as the name says are warm so i don't think they should be kept together. and this is a bristlenose , this is a young female the male has bristles on its nose when it matures.

Hi You could try PMing fishbait (Kerry) from Napier, i know he breeds some bettas, i got some off him a month or so ago and he might still have some, as your both in the same town.

Ask or PM Modern Angel , he had some problems with one a while back so i'm sure he knows all there is to know about them now
