What better day for them to come out and say HI , i've been waiting for this since i first got them way back in April but at last i have baby GBA's Seen 3 so far out and about but I'm guessing there are more still in the cave as the male is still in there ! I'm so pumped up right now its just awesome

until it sinks by itself, sometimes thats only a few days but mostly a few weeks if its small enough you might want to boil it too to kill off any hiding crawlies that might be in there

I agree the top IS male the bottom looks to me like a make with both fin damage and very stressed and not happy ( not your fault if you have just got him) its aken time to get to that stage , but i'd say two males Also note the body shape on the male is longer and more drawn out where the female is shorter and rounder as a rule.

There was nothing in with my GBA's but one Honey G fry now adult size Also not a mark on the dead GBA

Great will do , we do have 1 full black female we have produced , i'll try and get a picture and will breed her with some of the part blacks we also have. Will be waiting on the Koi's Thanks

I have moved them from one tank to another and have not lost any , but again all tanks are about the same temp .ph etc if moving from somewhere else take some of there old water with you as much as is practicable

I have a totally black female and many fry still too small to accurately sex but some must be male , I'll breed them to her and try a get a strain going them might be able to help you Its real nice taling about swords not just guppies ( also awesomefish ) because no one seems to do much with swords and there great fish I'd also be very interested in some of those "koi" swords when your ready to sell

Hi I have a great L-tail female breeding well a couple of nices black swordtails and lots of babies with black stripes if they keeep them till there adult

Hi This is my problem , i had 3 pairs of kribs all breeding at once , one pair in there own breeding tank and two pairs in community tanks , one of those pairs was not a problem because the tank was huge and everything else has room to keep out of there way but the other was only a small two footer with platies etc in it and the parents were going to kill anything that came near there babies ( as good krib parents do ) . What i was wondering i have tanken the babies and that tank has settled down nicely but could i put those babies in with the pair in there own tank to raise as there own or would those parents see them as intruders and just eat them ?? I'll raise them in the breeding trap or now but its only so big and being raised by Krib parents seems better to me. Let me know what you think or if you have done something like this yourselves. I lost one of my GBA's this morning , i have no idea why as they have been settle for months now , water reading were normal and stable but what made it even worse was i did a little cut to see if there was anything inside her that looked like it might have killed her and all i found was EGGs

Update : We have now added more swordtails into the tank ( up to 33 now ) and some plant at the back and another top level and more caves, starting to look good we think . The levels are starting to settle down so maybe by wednesday or maybe next weekend we plan to take all the swordtails out at once and add all the cichlids

Hi We are in the process of setting up a new cichlid tank for my wife Malawi Cichilds, its and AR980 and about 215 L, We desided to start from scartch and not use old water from there temp tank and new substrate etc, This of course ment cycleing the tank which is where we are at now We started by just adding 10 young swordtails last weekend and on Wednesday added another 10 making 20 little guys doing there thing in there, all good so far but my problem is this ... When its cycled and ready to go do i add all her cichlids ( about 14 ) and risk an ammonia spike , possably killing some fish or at least making them very unhappy OR do i add them slowly and have them be aggresive towards the new comer and possably killing them , i have read cichlids should be introduced very close togetheris not at the same time so pecking orders and hiding places can be claimed. We have left space for more rocks or caves to be added later so new hiding places can be added if need be. What do you guys think ?? Thanks Paul

yes all from the same female on the same drop , its her second large drop first was about 130. feeding them up on beef liver and heart there growing qucikly. young adults in just over two months with the male swords already growing
